How to read this calendar

Every date on this page comes from one of two places, and the last column of each row says which. An exchange-calendar date is the effective date carried in the corporate-action feed the exchanges publish, and it is the date the split actually executes unless the company moves it. A company-announcement date is the one the issuer stated in its own 8-K, 6-K or press release, listed here before the exchange feed carries it, which is usually a matter of days.

The ratio reads new:old, so a 1:30 row means 30 old shares become 1 new share and the price moves the other way by the same factor. Forward splits lower the price and raise the share count, and companies tend to run them after a long move up. Reverse splits do the opposite, and a small company doing one is often working to stay above the minimum price its exchange requires. A row can also arrive dated with no ratio at all, because the announcement named a date and left the ratio for later; we would rather show the date we have than guess the rest of it.

Dates change. A company can move an execution date after announcing it, and the exchange feed can revise a ratio, so anything on this page more than a few days out is a plan rather than a settled fact.
