Rhea-AI Filing Summary

AdvanSix Inc. (ASIX) reported third-quarter 2026 sales of $430.807 million, up 15% year over year. Sales growth reflected 17% favorable pricing, partly offset by a 2% decline in volume. Net loss widened to $7.555 million from $2.638 million, and adjusted EBITDA fell to $14.643 million from $24.734 million, primarily amid reduced production and higher raw-material costs. Operating cash flow rose to $47.962 million from $26.588 million, primarily due to working-capital performance.

For 2026, the company expects capital expenditures of approximately $90 million versus $116 million in 2025 and an approximately $17 million pre-tax income impact from plant turnarounds. The board declared a $0.16-per-share cash dividend payable December 1, 2026, to stockholders of record November 17, 2026. Project CENTURY was selected for a $47 million FIELDS grant to support ammonia platform investment. On August 14, 2026, AdvanSix completed a refinancing with a five-year $425 million credit facility.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

AdvanSix reported a nine-month net loss for the period ended September 30, 2026.

This earnings filing reports a nine-month net loss for the period ended September 30, 2026.

The release defines free cash flow as operating cash flow less capital expenditures; for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, reported free cash flow was negative. Cash from operations did not cover capital spending over that period.

At September 30, 2026, the balance sheet listed balances on the line of credit, long-term debt, and current portion of long-term debt; the $425 million figure describes the facility, not the reported line-of-credit balance.

Adjusted EBITDA financial
"Adjusted EBITDA of $14.6 million in the quarter"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
Free cash flow financial
"Free cash flow is a non-GAAP measure"
Free cash flow is the amount of money a company has left over after paying all its expenses and investing in its business, like buying equipment or updating facilities. It shows how much cash is available to reward shareholders, pay down debt, or save for future growth. This helps investors understand if a company is financially healthy and able to grow.
fixed cost absorption financial
"unfavorable fixed cost absorption in the quarter"
The process of including a company's fixed manufacturing overhead costs (rent, depreciation, salaried factory staff, etc.) in the cost of produced units so those fixed costs become part of inventory value and cost of goods sold when units are sold. Under absorption costing, a per‑unit share of total fixed production overhead is allocated to each unit produced; when production exceeds sales some fixed cost is carried on the balance sheet as inventory (deferring expense), and when sales exceed production previously absorbed fixed cost flows into cost of goods sold. This method is required for external financial reporting under common accounting standards and contrasts with variable costing, which expenses fixed manufacturing overhead immediately in the period incurred.
raw material pass-through pricing financial
"Raw material pass-through pricing was up 10%"
A pricing practice where a company adjusts the prices it charges customers to reflect changes in the cost of inputs or raw materials, so increases or decreases in commodity costs are passed along rather than absorbed. Think of it like a delivery service that adds fuel surcharges when gas prices rise: it keeps the company’s margins more stable but can make sales volumes and revenue more sensitive to swings in commodity markets, which matters to investors assessing profit predictability and cash flow volatility.
45Q carbon capture tax credits regulatory
"anticipate 45Q carbon capture tax credits"
A federal tax credit that pays a set amount for each metric ton of carbon dioxide a project captures and permanently stores or uses in a durable way, similar to receiving a rebate for each bag of trash you divert from a landfill. It matters to investors because it directly improves the economics and cash flows of carbon-capture projects, lowers project risk by subsidizing operating costs, and can materially affect valuations and financing decisions for companies pursuing emission reductions.
Sales $430.807 million Up 15% year over year
Net loss ($7.555 million) Compared with a loss of $2.638 million in 2025
Diluted earnings per share ($0.28) per share Compared with ($0.10) per share in 2025

For 2026, capital expenditures are expected to be approximately $90 million versus $116 million in 2025, and the pre-tax income impact of plant turnarounds is expected to be approximately $17 million. The company continues to expect second-half 2026 sequential cash flow improvement.

ADVANSIX ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER 2026 FINANCIAL RESULTS

3Q26 Sales of $431 million, up 15% versus prior year
3Q26 Earnings Per Share of ($0.28); Adjusted Earnings Per Share of ($0.24)
3Q26 Cash Flow from Operations of $48 million, up $21 million versus prior year
Project CENTURY Selected for $47 million FIELDS Grant to Support Ammonia Platform Investment

Parsippany, N.J., November 4, 2026 - AdvanSix (NYSE: ASIX), a vertically integrated chemistry company serving diverse end markets, today announced its financial results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2026.
Third Quarter 2026 Summary
"Our third quarter results reflect strong commercial execution and the resilience of our integrated business model as we navigate significant input cost inflation and a dynamic market environment,” said Erin Kane, president and CEO of AdvanSix. "We generated 15% sales growth year-over-year as our teams continued to leverage both formula and market-based pricing mechanisms to offset inflationary raw material costs. While our core caprolactam operating rate continues to exceed global industry averages, reduced production output drove unfavorable fixed cost absorption in the quarter. We are taking decisive actions to enhance cash generation, improve our cost position, and optimize our portfolio while continuing to prudently invest for attractive long-term growth opportunities. We remain focused on executing our strategic priorities and positioning AdvanSix to deliver sustainable long-term value."
Summary third quarter 2026 financial results for the Company are included below:

Sales of $431 million in the quarter increased approximately 15% versus the prior year driven by 17% favorable pricing, partially offset by a 2% decline in volume. Raw material pass-through pricing was up 10% following a net cost increase in benzene and propylene (inputs to cumene which is a key feedstock to our products). Market-based pricing improved by 7% primarily reflecting an increase across all product lines and strong commercial execution amid a higher input cost environment. Lower sales volume was primarily driven by lower caprolactam sales.

Sales by product line and approximate percentage of total sales are included below:

Adjusted EBITDA of $14.6 million in the quarter decreased $10.1 million versus the prior year primarily driven by the unfavorable impact of reduced production output and higher raw material costs, partially offset by higher pricing and disciplined cost savings including our non-manpower fixed cost savings initiative.

Adjusted earnings per share of ($0.24) decreased $0.32 versus the prior year driven primarily by the factors discussed above.

Cash flow from operations of $48.0 million in the quarter increased $21.4 million versus the prior year
2

primarily due to disciplined working capital performance. Capital expenditures of $18.3 million in the quarter decreased $8.2 million versus the prior year, as expected, driven by continued risk-based prioritization of base investments and progression of growth projects including SUSTAIN.

Credit Agreement
On August 14, 2026, the Company completed a refinancing of its existing credit facility by entering into a new 5-year $425 million credit facility providing ample liquidity and capital deployment optionality. The new agreement is comprised of a $275 million senior secured revolving credit facility and a $150 million senior secured term loan facility.
Outlook
•Expect tighter ammonium sulfate supply and demand dynamics into 2027 amid challenged sulfur input cost environment
•Acetone spread over propylene costs expected to hold near cycle averages
•Continue to optimize Nylon Solutions price over raws spreads and sales volume mix in soft industrial end market environment
•Now expect Capital Expenditures of approximately $90 million in 2026 versus $116 million in 2025, reflecting risk-based prioritization of base investments and enterprise programs with continued progression of growth programs including SUSTAIN
•Continue to expect pre-tax income impact of plant turnarounds to be approximately $17 million in 2026 versus $25 million in 2025
•Continue to expect 2H 2026 sequential cash flow improvement primarily due to a reduced Capital Expenditures run-rate, working capital tailwinds including our 4Q 2026 pre-buy program in Plant Nutrients, and timing of annual payments paid in 1H 2026

"Looking ahead, we remain focused on navigating near-term market dynamics while strengthening our performance and positioning AdvanSix for the future. We are prioritizing disciplined cost management, cash generation and capital deployment while advancing our strategic growth initiatives. We will ensure a well-managed balance sheet as we continue to progress evaluation of our potential DEF growth project as well as Project CENTURY. In addition, our non-manpower fixed cost savings program remains on track while we continue to anticipate 45Q carbon capture tax credits to support improved earnings and cash flow generation moving forward," concluded Kane.
Dividend
The Company's Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.16 per share on the Company's common stock. The dividend is payable on December 1, 2026 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on November 17, 2026.
