How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Revenue $0 Third quarter 2026; $190,000 in third quarter 2025

Research and development expense $10.445 million Third quarter 2026
General and administrative expense $8.347 million Third quarter 2026; $4.805 million in third quarter 2025
Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and available-for-sale investments $50.253 million As of September 30, 2026
forced vital capacity medical
"forced vital capacity (FVC) as the primary endpoint"
The amount of air a person can forcefully breathe out after taking the deepest breath possible; think of it as how much air you can squeeze out of a balloon in one hard blow. It matters to investors because it’s a common, objective measure used in clinical trials and patient monitoring for respiratory drugs, devices and treatments—changes in this number can signal whether a therapy works, affecting regulatory approval, sales and company value.
modified Rodnan Skin Score medical
"modified Rodnan Skin Score, skin histopathology"
A clinical measurement that grades how tight or thick a patient’s skin is at multiple body sites, producing a single score used to track severity and change over time. Investors care because this score is a common primary or secondary endpoint in clinical trials for treatments of systemic sclerosis (scleroderma); meaningful improvements can signal a drug is working, affecting regulatory approval prospects, market value, and commercial potential.
tRNA synthetase technical
"tRNA synthetase platform"
tRNA synthetase is an enzyme that matches each building block of proteins (an amino acid) to its correct carrier molecule called transfer RNA (tRNA), ensuring proteins are assembled correctly in cells. Think of it as a factory worker who puts the right part onto the right delivery tray before assembly; if it fails, proteins can be made incorrectly. Investors watch these enzymes because they can be drug targets, biomarkers of disease, or sources of genetic disorders that affect a company’s therapeutic or safety profile.
available-for-sale investments financial
"cash and available-for-sale investments"
Available-for-sale investments are bonds or stocks a company buys to earn income or sell later but not to trade day-to-day or hold until they mature. Price changes in these investments often affect the company’s reported net worth rather than immediate profit or loss, so they can make a firm’s balance sheet look stronger or weaker without changing current earnings — like items stored on a shelf whose sticker price changes but don’t yet show up on this month’s bill.

aTyr Pharma Announces Third Quarter 2026 Results and Provides Corporate Update

Reached alignment with FDA on proposed Phase 3 study of efzofitimod in pulmonary sarcoidosis with restrictive lung disease utilizing FVC as primary endpoint; study-related activities initiated.

Company to prioritize strategic partnerships to advance Phase 3 study of efzofitimod in pulmonary sarcoidosis.

Ended the third quarter 2026 with $50.3 million in cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and investments; cash runway into late 2028 based on current operational plans.

SAN DIEGO – November 5, 2026 – aTyr Pharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATYR) (“aTyr” or the “Company”), a clinical stage biotechnology company engaged in the discovery and development of first-in-class medicines from its proprietary tRNA synthetase platform, today announced third quarter 2026 results and provided a corporate update.

“During the last quarter we reached alignment with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the protocol for a Phase 3 study of our lead therapeutic candidate, efzofitimod, in pulmonary sarcoidosis patients with restrictive lung disease, a major form of interstitial lung disease (ILD) with a high unmet medical need,” said Sanjay S. Shukla, M.D., M.S., President and Chief Executive Officer of aTyr. “We believe the efzofitimod program is well-positioned, considering the late-stage development status in an indication with a multi-billion-dollar global market opportunity, and have determined that at this time the best way for us to advance efzofitimod is to prioritize strategic partnerships.”

Third Quarter 2026 and Subsequent Period Highlights

•
Reached alignment with the FDA on the protocol for a global Phase 3 study of efzofitimod in patients with chronic, symptomatic pulmonary sarcoidosis with restrictive lung disease. The Company recently initiated study-related activities for the trial and is prioritizing strategic partnerships and/or licensing arrangements in order to advance the Phase 3 study beyond the completion of the initial study-related activities.
•
Completed enrollment in the Phase 2 EFZO-CONNECT™ study of efzofitimod in patients with limited or diffuse systemic sclerosis (SSc)-related ILD (SSc-ILD). Full study results are expected in the second quarter of 2027. These will include data for multiple study endpoints, including the

modified Rodnan Skin Score, skin histopathology, gene expression profiling, immune biomarkers, forced vital capacity, and an exposure response analysis.
•
Published the results of the Phase 3 EFZO-FIT™ study of efzofitimod in pulmonary sarcoidosis in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine. The peer-reviewed publication reinforces efzofitimod’s differentiated profile and potential to advance pulmonary sarcoidosis care. The publication is available on the Company’s website.

•
Cash & Investment Position: Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and available-for-sale investments as of September 30, 2026, were $50.3 million. Based on its current cash and operating expense forecast and plans, the Company anticipates that this cash position will be sufficient to fund the Company’s current operations into late 2028.
•
R&D Expenses: Research and development expenses were $10.4 million for the third quarter 2026, which consisted primarily of costs for the Phase 2 EFZO-CONNECT™ study and research and development costs for the Company’s preclinical product candidates.
•
G&A Expenses: General and administrative expenses were $8.3 million for the third quarter 2026.

About Efzofitimod

Efzofitimod is a novel biologic immunomodulator in clinical development for the treatment of interstitial lung disease (ILD), a group of immune-mediated disorders that can cause inflammation and fibrosis, or scarring, of the lungs. Efzofitimod is a tRNA synthetase derived therapy that selectively modulates activated myeloid cells through neuropilin-2 to resolve inflammation without immune suppression and potentially prevent the progression of fibrosis. Efzofitimod is currently being investigated in the Phase 2 EFZO-CONNECT™ study in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc, or scleroderma)-related ILD, and aTyr recently initiated study-related activities for a global Phase 3 study of efzofitimod in patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis, a major form of ILD. These forms of ILD have limited therapeutic options and there is a need for safer and more effective, disease-modifying treatments that improve outcomes.

About aTyr

aTyr is a clinical stage biotechnology company leveraging evolutionary intelligence to translate tRNA synthetase biology into new therapies for fibrosis and inflammation. tRNA synthetases are ancient, essential proteins that have evolved novel domains that regulate diverse pathways extracellularly in humans. aTyr’s discovery platform is focused on unlocking hidden therapeutic intervention points by uncovering signaling pathways driven by its proprietary library of domains derived from all 20 tRNA synthetases. aTyr’s lead therapeutic candidate is efzofitimod, a novel biologic immunomodulator in clinical development for the treatment of interstitial lung disease, a group of immune-mediated disorders that can cause inflammation and progressive fibrosis, or scarring, of the lungs.
