share repurchase plan financial
"renewal and increase in the size of its share repurchase plan"
A share repurchase plan is when a company uses cash to buy its own stock from the market, reducing the number of shares available to investors. This matters because fewer shares can make each remaining share represent a larger piece of ownership and boost earnings-per-share—like slicing a pizza into fewer pieces so each slice is bigger—and it can signal management thinks the stock is undervalued, though it also means cash won’t be used for other purposes.
block trades financial
"Any repurchase of shares will be made through the open market, block trades, or"
A block trade is a single, large buy or sell of shares or bonds arranged privately between big traders rather than piecemeal on the public market. Think of it like buying a whole shipment at once instead of many small shopping trips; it lets large holders move big positions with less immediate disruption but can signal strong buying or selling pressure and cause price swings once the trade is known, so investors watch block trades for clues about market sentiment and liquidity.
financial holding company financial
"First Financial Bankshares, Inc. is a financial holding company that through its subsidiary"
A financial holding company is a parent firm that owns and oversees banks and other financial businesses, such as lending, insurance, or investment services. It matters to investors because it bundles several money-making activities under one roof—like a parent managing several children—so returns, risks, and regulatory rules for banking apply to the whole group; trouble in one unit can affect the company’s profits, capital needs, and dividends.
forward-looking statements regulatory
"Certain statements contained herein may be considered “forward-looking statements”"
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.
