How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

net interest margin (NIM) financial
"including net interest margin (NIM)"
Net interest margin (NIM) measures how much profit a bank or lending business makes from its core activity of borrowing and lending: it’s the difference between interest earned on loans and investments and interest paid to depositors and lenders, expressed as a percentage of the assets that earn interest. Think of it like a store’s markup on goods — a higher NIM means the lender keeps more on each dollar it intermediates, so investors use it to judge profitability and sensitivity to interest-rate changes.
purchase accounting accretion financial
"Purchase accounting accretion on acquired loans"
Purchase accounting accretion describes how an acquisition’s required accounting adjustments change a company’s reported earnings per share after the deal. When the purchase price is reallocated to the acquired assets and liabilities, certain items (like tax effects, depreciation or amortization) are recorded differently, and those changes can make reported earnings per share rise over time — showing whether the transaction boosts or dilutes per-share results. Investors use it like checking whether two merged household budgets will increase the amount left over each month after relabeling expenses.
allowance for credit losses financial
"allowance for credit losses on loans"
Allowance for credit losses is a reserve set aside by a financial institution to cover potential losses from borrowers who may not repay their loans. It acts like a safety net, helping the institution prepare for loans that might turn sour. For investors, it signals how cautious the institution is about the quality of its loans and potential risks to its financial health.
tangible book value per common share financial
"Tangible book value per common share (non-GAAP)"
A per-share measure of the company’s tangible net asset value available to common shareholders after removing intangible items (like goodwill, brand value, and patents) and any preferred shareholder claims. Think of it as the amount each common share would get if the company sold only its physical and financial assets and settled priority claims. Investors use it as a conservative baseline to judge whether a stock is cheaply priced relative to the company’s hard-asset backing.

The Company’s allowance for credit losses on loans was $326.2 million, or 1.93% of total loans, at September 30, 2026 compared to $328.4 million, or 1.92% of total loans, at June 30, 2026. As of September 30, 2026 and June 30, 2026, the Company’s allowance for credit losses on loans was 162.45% and 177.19% of its total non-performing loans, respectively.
Shareholders’ equity was $4.53 billion at September 30, 2026, which decreased approximately $17.7 million from June 30, 2026. The net decrease in shareholders’ equity is primarily associated with the $64.9 million decrease in accumulated other comprehensive income, the $39.6 million in stock repurchases for the quarter and the $46.0 million in dividends paid during the quarter, which were partially offset by the $129.5 million in net income for the quarter. Book value per common share was $22.74 at September 30, 2026, compared to $22.68 at June 30, 2026. Tangible book value per common share (non-GAAP) was $15.35(1) at September 30, 2026, compared to $15.32(1) at June 30, 2026. Book value per common share and tangible book value per common share, as of September 30, 2026, were both records for the Company.

Stock Repurchases and Dividends
During the three-month period ended September 30, 2026, the Company repurchased 1.3 million shares of common stock, which equated to a shareholder buyback yield of 0.69%(2). In comparison, during the three-month period ended June 30, 2026, the Company repurchased 1.5 million shares of common stock, which equated to a shareholder buyback yield of 0.77%(2). The Company defines shareholder buyback yield as the percentage of the Company’s market capitalization spent on share repurchases. It reflects how much the Company is returning to the shareholders by reducing the number of outstanding shares, and it is calculated by dividing the Company’s total share repurchase cost for the period by the Company’s total market capitalization at the beginning of the period.
In addition, during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, the Company paid a dividend of $0.23 per share. This cash dividend represented a $0.02, or 9.5%, increase over the $0.21 cash dividend paid during the second quarter of 2026 and a $0.03, or 15.0%, increase over the $0.20 cash dividend paid during the third quarter of 2025.

NON-GAAP FINANCIAL MEASURES This presentation contains financial information determined by methods other than in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The management of Home BancShares, Inc. (the “Company”) uses these non-GAAP financial measures--including net income (earnings), as adjusted; pre- tax, pre-provision, net income (PPNR); PPNR, as adjusted; return on average assets, as adjusted; efficiency ratio, as adjusted; and tangible book value per share--to provide meaningful supplemental information regarding our performance. These measures typically adjust GAAP performance measures to include the tax benefit associated with revenue items that are tax-exempt, as well as adjust income available to common shareholders for certain significant items or transactions that management believes are not indicative of the Company’s primary business operating results. Since the presentation of these GAAP performance measures and their impact differ between companies, management believes presentations of these non- GAAP financial measures provide useful supplemental information that is essential to a proper understanding of the operating results of the Company’s business. These non-GAAP disclosures should not be viewed as a substitute for operating results determined in accordance with GAAP, nor are they necessarily comparable to non-GAAP performance measures that may be presented by other companies. Where non-GAAP financial measures are used, the comparable GAAP financial measure, as well as the reconciliation to the comparable GAAP financial measure, can be found in the tables accompanying the Company’s earnings press release for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, available at https://www.homebancshares.com/news-events/news/default.aspx. 2

The increase from both the linked quarter and prior-year period was driven by strong net interest income generation and a reduction in credit loss expense.

NON-INTEREST INCOME 6 Non-interest income totaled $46.4 million for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $53.5 million in the second quarter of 2026 and $51.5 million in the third quarter of 2025. Results for the quarter reflect the normal variability of fee-based revenue categories while continuing to contribute to the Company's overall earnings performance.

The linked-quarter decrease was primarily driven by the absence of acquisition-related expenses incurred during the second quarter, while the increase from the prior-year quarter reflects the impact of franchise growth and continued investment in the Company's operations. Interest expense decreased from both the prior quarter and prior-year period, reflecting continued improvement in the Company's funding costs.

(1) Calculation of this metric and the reconciliation to GAAP can be found in the tables accompanying the Company’s earnings press release for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, available at https://www.homebancshares.com/news-events/news/default.aspx.

The linked-quarter improvement in both reported and adjusted ROA reflects strong earnings performance and the absence of acquisition-related expenses recognized during the second quarter, while adjusted ROA improved from the prior-year quarter, demonstrating the Company's continued ability to generate strong returns on its asset base. (1) Calculation of this metric and the reconciliation to GAAP can be found in the tables accompanying the Company’s earnings press release for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, available at https://www.homebancshares.com/news-events/news/default.aspx.
