How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

4 terms
non-gaap financial
"Net income, as adjusted (non-GAAP)(1)"
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.
View in glossary
ppnr financial
"Pre-tax, pre-provision, net income (PPNR) (non-GAAP)(1)"
Pre-provision net revenue (PPNR) is a bank’s revenue after accounting for day-to-day operating costs but before subtracting money set aside for bad loans. Think of it like a store’s gross profit before it reserves cash for damaged goods: it shows the core ability to generate income from lending and fees, and helps investors judge a bank’s operating strength separate from credit losses.
net interest margin financial
"Our net interest margin was 4.53% and 4.51%"
Net interest margin measures how much a bank earns from lending and investing compared with what it pays for funding, expressed as a percentage of its interest-earning assets. Think of it like a grocery store’s markup: it shows the gap between buying cost and selling price per dollar of goods — here, the cost is interest paid and the sale is interest received. Investors watch it because a higher margin usually means a bank is more profitable and better at managing interest rate and credit conditions.
common equity tier 1 capital regulatory
"Common equity tier 1 capital | 16.7%"
Core capital a bank holds consisting mainly of common shares and retained profits that can absorb losses without forcing the bank to sell assets or seek emergency help; items that can’t reliably cover losses are excluded. Think of it as the bank’s shock-absorbing cushion: a higher common equity tier 1 (CET1) level and ratio means regulators and investors view the bank as better able to survive bad loans or market shocks, so it signals lower risk to shareholders and creditors.

As of September 30, 2026 and June 30, 2026, the Company’s allowance for credit losses on loans was 162.45% and 177.19% of its total non-performing loans, respectively.

Shareholders’ equity was $4.53 billion at September 30, 2026, which decreased approximately $17.7 million from June 30, 2026. The net decrease in shareholders’ equity is primarily associated with the $64.9 million decrease in accumulated other comprehensive income, the $39.6 million in stock repurchases for the quarter and the $46.0 million in dividends paid during the quarter, which were partially offset by the $129.5 million in net income for the quarter. Tangible book value per common share (non-GAAP) was $15.35(1) at September 30, 2026, compared to $15.32(1) at June 30, 2026. Book value per common share and tangible book value per common share, as of September 30, 2026, were both records for the Company.

Stock Repurchases and Dividends

During the three-month period ended September 30, 2026, the Company repurchased 1.3 million shares of common stock, which equated to a shareholder buyback yield of 0.69%(2). In comparison, during the three-month period ended June 30, 2026, the Company repurchased 1.5 million shares of common stock, which equated to a shareholder buyback yield of 0.77%(2). The Company defines shareholder buyback yield as the percentage of the Company’s market capitalization spent on share repurchases. It reflects how much the Company is returning to the shareholders by reducing the number of outstanding shares, and it is calculated by dividing the Company’s total share repurchase cost for the period by the Company’s total market capitalization at the beginning of the period.

In addition, during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, the Company paid a dividend of $0.23 per share. This cash dividend represented a $0.02, or 9.5%, increase over the $0.21 cash dividend paid during the second quarter of 2026 and a $0.03, or 15.0%, increase over the $0.20 cash dividend paid during the third quarter of 2025.
