MFA Financial, a REIT focused on residential mortgage assets, reported for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 net income of $46.8 million, up from $33.2 million a year earlier. Net income available to common stockholders rose to $36.2 million, with diluted EPS of $0.34 versus $0.21.
Net interest income was $58.6 million, slightly below $61.3 million in 2025, as higher interest income of $196.8 million was offset by higher funding costs. Results were strongly affected by fair value movements: residential whole loans produced a $45.5 million loss, while derivatives and securitized debt generated gains of $44.6 million and $25.3 million, respectively.
