How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Adjusted EBITDA financial
"Adjusted EBITDA (a non-GAAP measure)"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
organic net sales growth financial
"Organic net sales growth defined as total sales growth excluding impact of foreign exchange rates."
Organic net sales growth measures how much a company’s core revenue rose from its existing operations, excluding effects from buying or selling businesses and from changes in currency values. Investors use it to see whether customers are actually buying more or paying higher prices — like checking growth from the same orchard year-to-year rather than counting fruit from newly added orchards — which helps assess true demand and underlying business health.
net leverage ratio financial
"The total net leverage ratio was 2.8x at the end of the third quarter."
The net leverage ratio measures how much debt a company has compared to its available assets or earnings, after accounting for its cash and liquid assets. It helps investors understand how heavily a company relies on borrowed money to finance its operations and growth. A higher ratio indicates greater financial risk, while a lower ratio suggests a more cautious approach to borrowing.
free cash flow financial
"Free cash flow is an important measure of operating performance"
Free cash flow is the amount of money a company has left over after paying all its expenses and investing in its business, like buying equipment or updating facilities. It shows how much cash is available to reward shareholders, pay down debt, or save for future growth. This helps investors understand if a company is financially healthy and able to grow.
non-GAAP financial measures financial
"The non-GAAP financial measures disclosed by the company"
Non-GAAP financial measures are numbers companies use to show their financial performance that exclude certain expenses or income. They help investors see how the company might perform without one-time costs or other unusual items, giving a different perspective from official reports. However, since they can be adjusted, they don’t always tell the full story and should be looked at alongside standard financial figures.
Net sales $652.6 million Up 7.7% year over year
Adjusted EBITDA $155.8 million Up 10% from $142.2 million
Adjusted EPS $2.07 Up 19% from $1.74

(1) Includes amortization of deferred financing costs and convertible notes issuance costs.
(2) Brewing closure-related charges for the three and nine months ended October 3, 2026 included $20.0 million of non-cash impairments of long-lived assets, $5.5 million of non-cash other asset write-downs and $0.4 million of severance.
(3) Adjusted diluted weighted average number of shares was calculated based on excluding the dilutive effect of shares to be issued upon conversion of the notes to satisfy the amount in excess of the principal since the company's capped call offsets the dilutive impact of the shares underlying the convertible notes. The calculation of adjusted diluted earnings per share excludes the principal portion of the convertible notes as this will always be settled in cash. Given the settlement of the convertible notes in the third quarter of 2025 the weighted average number of shares will no longer require an adjustment in 2026.

USE OF NON-GAAP FINANCIAL MEASURES
The company supplements its consolidated financial statements presented on a GAAP basis with this non-GAAP financial information to provide investors with greater insight, increase transparency and allow for a more comprehensive understanding of the information used by management in its financial and operational decision-making. The non-GAAP financial measures disclosed by the company should not be considered a substitute for, or superior to, financial measures prepared in accordance with GAAP, and the financial results prepared in accordance with GAAP and reconciliations from these results should be carefully evaluated. In addition, the non-GAAP financial measures included in this press release do not have standard meanings and may vary from similarly titled non-GAAP financial measures used by other companies. Reconciliations of forward-looking non-GAAP financial measures to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures are not available because the timing and magnitude of certain items cannot be reasonably estimated at this time without unreasonable effort.
The company believes that organic net sales growth, adjusted EBITDA, organic adjusted EBITDA, net debt, net leverage, adjusted net earnings and adjusted diluted per share measures are useful as supplements to its GAAP results of operations to evaluate certain aspects of its operations and financial performance, and its management team primarily focuses on non-GAAP items in evaluating performance for business planning purposes. The company also believes that these measures assist it with comparing its performance between various reporting periods on a consistent basis, as these measures remove from operating results the impact of items that, in its opinion, do not reflect its core operating performance including, for example, intangibles amortization expense, impairment charges, restructuring expenses, and other charges which management considers to be outside core operating results.
The company believes that free cash flow is an important measure of operating performance because it provides management and investors with a measure of cash generated from operations that is available for mandatory payment obligations and investment opportunities, such as funding acquisitions, repaying debt and repurchasing our common stock.
The company believes that its presentation of these non-GAAP financial measures is useful because it provides investors and securities analysts with the same information that Middleby uses internally for purposes of assessing its core operating performance.
