Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Eightco Holdings Inc. completed, through its wholly owned subsidiary AI Innovation Capital LLC, the sale of a portion of its indirect interest in OpenAI Group, PBC, held through a single purpose vehicle, for approximately $20.0 million in aggregate gross cash proceeds on October 26, 2026. Eightco said the sale price per share was roughly 40% above its initial purchase price and that the reported treasury figures carry investments at cost. The board intends to use the sale proceeds for additional share repurchases.

Eightco reported repurchasing more than 55 million common shares under its previously announced $125 million share repurchase program. Since August 2026, repurchases represented 12.98% of shares outstanding. As of October 28, 2026, treasury holdings included $76 million of indirect OpenAI equity, $18 million of Beast Industries equity, 16,278 ETH, nearly 302 million WLD and $132 million of cash and equivalents, totaling approximately $399 million.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Carrying value is the amount an asset is listed for on a company’s balance sheet after subtracting reductions for wear, age or loss of value from its original purchase cost. Think of it like the price shown in your records for a car after accounting for years of use; it may differ from what you could sell it for today. Investors watch carrying value because it affects reported profits when assets are sold or written down and influences balance-sheet strength and valuation ratios.

Eightco Holdings (ORBS) Announces Strategic Monetization to Demonstrate Portfolio Gains and Support Accelerated Buybacks

Eightco treasury composition as of October 28, 2026: $76M OpenAI equity (indirect), $18M Beast Industries equity, 16,278 ETH, nearly 302 million WLD holdings, and $132M cash and equivalents, totaling approximately $399 million

Company intends to utilize its balance sheet to accelerate the pace of share repurchases

Eightco provides indirect exposure to some of the most innovative private companies including OpenAI and Beast Industries

EASTON, Pa., October 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBS) (“Eightco” or the “Company”) today announced that it has repurchased more than 55 million shares of its common stock under its previously announced $125 million share repurchase program, while maintaining significant exposure to OpenAI and World. Since August of this year, the Company has repurchased 12.98% of its shares outstanding.

On October 26, Eightco monetized a small portion of its OpenAI investment at a price per share that was roughly 40% above the Company’s initial purchase price. Critically, this strategic sale highlights appreciation within the portfolio that is not reflected in the reported treasury figures (which are held at cost). As such, management was able to monetize assets above their carrying value while the Company’s stock trades at a discount to net assets. The Board intends to use those sale proceeds for additional share repurchases.

“Since Eightco invested in OpenAI, its valuation has experienced significant step changes, reflecting the scale of the opportunity emerging across artificial intelligence,” said Kevin O’Donnell, Chief Executive Officer of Eightco Holdings. “We’ve capitalized a portion of our OpenAI position following substantial appreciation and strategically deployed this capital to repurchase ORBS shares.”

“The size of the cumulative common share repurchases, in my view, reflects this Company’s commitment to deliver shareholder returns,” said Tom Lee, board member of Eightco. “More importantly, ORBS continues to own an attractive portfolio of valuable and appreciating assets. The sizable gain from the stake in OpenAI is the most recent example.”
