About Maase Inc.
Technology · NASDAQ
Maase Inc. (NASDAQ: MAAS) is a China-based artificial intelligence company. It describes itself as an integrated provider and operator of AI-centric full-scene digital systems, combining AI computing infrastructure, a proprietary large language model, enterprise AI applications and new energy products such as electric vehicle charging equipment. The company also owns a health and wellness product business. Founded in 2010 and formerly known as Highest Performances Holdings Inc. and Puyi Inc., Maase was previously a financial services group focused on insurance agency and wealth management services, which it has since exited.
Business focus
Maase states that its businesses center on flexible energy deployment and intelligent commercial network operation. It offers closed-loop solutions that run from computing infrastructure and smart hardware to full-scene services, with the stated aim of applying AI technologies across industries. The company describes its aim as building an integrated AI and energy platform.
Maase is a holding company incorporated in the Cayman Islands with no material operations of its own. It conducts its business through subsidiaries and consolidated entities in the People's Republic of China, and its filings state that substantially all of its revenue is derived in China.
AI computing infrastructure
The AI business rests on Huazhi Group, which consists of Huazhi Future (Chongqing) Technology Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries. Maase gained control of Huazhi Group by completing its acquisition of Times Good Limited on March 30, 2026. Huazhi Group specializes in high-performance computing and AI algorithm research and development, including the integration of computing power resources.
Huazhi Future and another subsidiary, Huarong Future (Sichuan) Technology Co., Ltd., supply enterprise customers with computing capacity for AI model training, inference and deployment. Their service contracts pair computing resources with operating environment setup, technical consulting, troubleshooting at the hardware and system level, and ongoing operations and maintenance.
The company's computing network design is the Stars Distributed Intelligent Computing architecture, which follows what Maase calls a dual-core, multi-level edge and unified platform model. The design uses containerized, modular edge nodes built for low-latency inference and local data processing. One platform manages scheduling, billing, operations and security across the network's computing resources.
Lingyanmiaoyu large language model
Maase develops a proprietary large language model named Lingyanmiaoyu, which is operated by Huazhi Future. The model uses a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture. During inference it activates only selected expert networks as needed, which the company says lowers computing costs while improving concurrency and response efficiency.
The model reaches users through three channels. A consumer access portal offers intelligent conversation, multilingual interaction, content generation, knowledge assistance and creative ideation. Enterprise customers buy token-based model services that include model access, usage management, permission controls and ongoing maintenance. Maase also develops enterprise private-deployment versions of the model.
Enterprise AI applications
Huazhi Future builds customized, enterprise-grade AI application systems on Lingyanmiaoyu. The work spans model customization and algorithm optimization, data engineering and governance, application development and systems integration, and secure on-premises deployment with regulatory compliance, followed by ongoing operations and upgrades. Huazhi Group brings domain experience in smart governance, covering public security, emergency management, agriculture, forestry and water resources, and in enterprise digital transformation.
Smart technology and new energy
Maase entered new energy by acquiring Real Prospect Group, a deal completed on October 28, 2025 and reported as the Qingdao Maisi segment. This business provides electric vehicle charging services and sells charging equipment, including mobile charging robots, fixed charging piles and modular residential energy storage systems.
Its Xiaoli mobile charging robot combines energy storage and charging with automated guided vehicle (AGV) movement and AI-powered, cloud-based scheduling. The robot is designed for flexible charging in residential communities, commercial complexes, industrial parks, highway service areas, hospitals and temporary event venues, where fixed chargers can be held back by limited power capacity, occupied parking spaces or peak-hour congestion.
Energy also ties into the computing business. Huazhi Future has set up a green energy infrastructure research team focused on 800-volt direct current (800VDC) power for intelligent computing centers, industrial parks and distributed renewable energy.
Health and wellness products
Maase also runs a health and wellness product business, established when it completed the acquisition of Carve Group on August 27, 2025. Carve Group includes Glyken Bird Nest Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., which extracts small-molecule bird's nest peptides and makes and sells bird's nest peptide products, and Zhongshen Resources Development (Liaoning) Co., Ltd., which holds premium wild ginseng resources. Maase reports these as the Glyken Bird Nest and Zhongshen segments. In January 2026 it acquired Oriental Grove, a premium tea business that the company places within its broader health and wellness product segment.
Exit from financial services
Through its fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, Maase's operations focused on financial asset allocation services, mainly insurance agency and wealth management. It provided these through AIFU Inc., a Nasdaq-listed independent financial service platform, and Fanhua Puyi Fund Distribution Co., Ltd., an independent wealth management service provider. Maase divested its wealth management operations in September 2025 and ceased all wealth management activity. After AIFU issued new shares to a third party on December 22, 2025, Maase's voting power in AIFU fell, and it no longer controls or consolidates AIFU or its insurance agency services.
Maase also sold its 49% equity interest in Laixi, an unmanned car wash business, on July 24, 2026. The company describes these exits as part of a strategic realignment that sharpens its focus on AI.
Corporate structure and listing
Maase controls Huazhi Group through Times Good Limited and a set of contractual arrangements with Huazhi Future and its shareholders, covering exclusive business cooperation, a call option, an equity pledge and a power of attorney. Under these arrangements Maase consolidates Huazhi Group as a variable interest entity (VIE) under U.S. GAAP. The company notes that this structure may not be as effective as direct equity ownership.
