Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

"suspend its NAFTA arbitration proceedings"
A trilateral trade agreement among Canada, the United States and Mexico that established rules to reduce or eliminate many tariffs and trade barriers, protect intellectual property, and set procedures for resolving commercial disputes and regulatory differences between the three countries. It governed cross‑border trade in goods and many services and created predictable requirements for customs, rules of origin and investor protections; in practice it shaped how companies import, export and structure supply chains across North America.

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - October 13, 2026) - First Majestic Silver Corp. (NYSE: AG) (TSX: AG) (FSE: FMV) (the "Company" or "First Majestic") announces that it has agreed to suspend its NAFTA arbitration proceedings (the "APA Arbitration") against the Government of Mexico pursuant to Chapter 11 of the North American Free Trade Agreement in respect of the legacy tax issue concerning First Majestic's subsidiary, Primero Empresa Minera, S.A. de C.V. ("PEM"). Details regarding the history of this legacy tax issue are set out in First Majestic's continuous disclosure documents available on SEDAR+.

First Majestic and Mexico have been involved in discussions and negotiations to settle PEM's legacy tax issue for the past several years, with significant progress at reaching a settlement having been made this year. With First Majestic and Mexico having agreed in principle to a framework to settle the tax issue, the parties have requested that the tribunal overseeing the APA Arbitration temporarily suspend proceedings whilst they work to finalize and implement the settlement. Accordingly, the tribunal has issued an order temporarily suspending the proceedings until December 31, 2026.

The negotiations to date have been constructive and cordial, and First Majestic remains optimistic that a settlement will be finalized by the end of 2026. If additional time is required to conclude the settlement, the parties can request the tribunal to extend the term of the temporary suspension into the first quarter of 2027. In the event a final settlement cannot be concluded by the end of 2026 and the parties do not believe that additional time will result in the conclusion of a settlement, First Majestic will request that the tribunal lift the suspension and the APA Arbitration proceedings will re-commence.
