Key Terms

agentic applications, d/b/a, proxy statement
3 terms
agentic applications technical
"the future of enterprise software will be agentic applications"
Software systems that carry out tasks and make decisions on behalf of users with little or no human intervention, often using artificial intelligence and preset goals; examples include automated trading programs, virtual assistants that manage workflows, and bots that handle customer requests. Investors care because these applications can sharply raise productivity and lower costs—like power tools that let a worker do more—but they also create new operational, legal and competitive risks that can affect a company’s performance and valuation.
d/b/a regulatory
"the Company will operate under the d/b/a “Parabolic”"
An abbreviation for "doing business as," used when a company or individual operates under a trade name different from their legal name. It shows the public-facing name used on products, stores, or marketing while legal documents, licenses, contracts, and tax filings use the registered name; think of it like a person with a formal legal name who goes by a nickname. Investors use d/b/a to match disclosures, verify legal responsibility, and trace filings or liabilities to the correct legal entity.
proxy statement regulatory
"the Company intends to file a proxy statement with the SEC"
A proxy statement is a document companies send to shareholders ahead of a meeting that lays out the items up for a vote—like who will sit on the board, executive pay, and major corporate decisions—and provides background so shareholders can decide how to cast their votes or appoint someone to vote for them. Think of it as an agenda plus a ballot and briefing notes, important because the outcomes can change control, strategy, and value.
