7 terms
hud-code regulatory
"producing exceptional, affordable HUD-code manufactured and modular single-family homes"
A HUD-code home is a manufactured dwelling built to federal construction and safety standards set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; think of it as a factory-built house certified to meet one nationwide rulebook rather than local building codes. For investors, HUD-code status affects financing, insurance, resale value and zoning — similar to how a car’s safety rating influences its marketability — so it helps gauge risk and market demand for properties or companies tied to manufactured housing.
mortgage-backed securities financial
"a Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities issuer that offers conforming mortgages"
A mortgage-backed security is an investment made by pooling many home loans and selling the right to the borrowers’ monthly payments to investors, so you receive a stream of principal and interest much like collecting payments on a bundle of IOUs. It matters to investors because it provides regular income but carries risks from homeowners missing payments or paying off loans early, and its value moves with interest rates and housing market conditions.
fannie mae financial
"CountryPlace Mortgage, is an approved Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac seller/servicer"
Fannie Mae is a U.S. government-chartered financial institution that buys home loans from banks and packages them into mortgage-backed securities, acting like a central buyer that keeps mortgage lending flowing. It matters to investors because its buying and securitizing activity helps set mortgage availability and rates, creates widely traded securities, and carries policy-linked risk that can affect bond, bank and housing-related investments.
freddie mac financial
"CountryPlace Mortgage, is an approved Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac seller/servicer"
A U.S. government-chartered company that buys home loans from banks and mortgage lenders, bundles them into investments, and sells those investments to other investors. Think of it as a big wholesale buyer or warehouse for mortgages that helps keep money flowing to people who want home loans; its activities affect mortgage availability, borrowing costs, and the value or risk of mortgage-related securities that investors hold.
ginnie mae financial
"a Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities issuer that offers conforming mortgages"
Ginnie Mae is a U.S. government corporation that guarantees timely payment of principal and interest on mortgage-backed securities composed of federally insured or guaranteed home loans (for example, FHA, VA and USDA loans). For investors it acts like an official co-signer that reduces the chance of loss and makes these securities easier to buy and sell, which generally means lower yield but greater perceived safety and liquidity.
forward-looking statements regulatory
"This press release contains “forward-looking statements” within the meaning of Section 27A"
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.
section 21e of the securities exchange act of 1934 regulatory
"and Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended"
Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 creates a legal safe harbor for forward-looking statements — projections, plans, estimates or predictions — made by public companies, provided those statements are identified as forward-looking and accompanied by meaningful cautionary language about risks and uncertainties. For investors, it matters because it helps distinguish promotional predictions from factual disclosures and signals which optimistic forecasts carry legal protection and which risks the company has warned could affect outcomes, like a weather forecast that comes with a disclaimer about changing conditions.
