Pricing contributed 3.6% to quarterly like-for-like growth, while volume/mix contributed 0.4%.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Danone (DANOY) reported third-quarter sales of €7,233 million, with growth across all three geographical zones and all three categories. Sales rose 5.2% reported and 4.0% like-for-like, a measure excluding currency and consolidation changes, among other adjustments. Volume/mix contributed 0.4% and pricing 3.6%. Nine-month sales reached €21,176 million, up 2.9% reported.
Americas sales grew 4.4% like-for-like, EMEA 3.9% and Asia Pacific 3.6%. Mizone's decline reduced group quarterly like-for-like growth by approximately 1 percentage point. Danone confirmed expected 2026 like-for-like growth of 3%–5%, with recurring operating income growing faster than sales. It intends to repurchase c.3.5 million shares by year-end to offset employee-plan dilution. Recent developments include a completed €1.5 billion bond offering, the Huel acquisition and the creation of an equally controlled Argentine dairy joint venture with Arcor.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Specialized Nutrition delivered outstanding performance, driven by Aptamil, Neocate and Kate Farms. Waters posted strong growth with solid performance of evian in North America and improved momentum in Mexico.
In EDP, High Protein continued to drive growth across the region. In North America, decisive actions are in place to regain momentum, focusing on step-changing execution and regaining innovation leadership through strong product pipeline beyond high protein. III. SHARE BUYBACK
Danone intends to buy back c.3.5 million of its own shares by the end of 2026, in order to offset the dilutive impacts resulting from the capital increases reserved to employees and the long-term incentive plans to be implemented in 2027. The repurchased shares will be allocated to employee shareholding plans. Details of the share buyback program are available in section 6.2 of Danone’s 2025 Universal Registration Document, available on Danone’s website.
IV. GOVERNANCE
Vikram Agarwal, Chief Operations Officer, to retire from Danone
After nearly four decades dedicated to Supply Chain and Operations, including five years at Danone, Vikram Agarwal decided to retire from Danone early 2027.

V. RECENT MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS
- September 21, 2026: Danone successfully issued a triple-tranche bond offering with a total amount of
€1.5 billion , comprising:- a
€500 million tranche of 18-month notes, carrying a floating coupon of 3-month Euribor +0.30% ; - a
€500 million tranche of 5-year notes, carrying a 4.0910 % coupon; - a
€500 million tranche of 9-year notes, carrying a 4.4180 % coupon.
- a
The settlement took place on September 28, 2026, and the bonds are listed on Euronext Paris.
- September 4, 2026: Danone has completed its acquisition of Huel, a leading player in complete, nutritionally balanced meal solutions. By combining the direct-to-consumer and community engagement capabilities of Huel with the scale and global reach of Danone, more consumers will have access to nutritionally complete and convenient, sustainable food. Huel is consolidated in Danone’s financial statements since September 1, 2026.
- August 3, 2026: Danone and Arcor have completed the creation of their joint venture to unlock new dairy opportunities in Argentina. This new partnership combines Danone’s dairy business in Argentina (Danone Argentina SA), Mastellone Hermanos SA and Logistica La Serenísima. Danone now holds equal control of the joint venture with Arcor, and it is thus reflected since August 1, 2026, within ‘equity-accounted companies’ in Danone’s financial statements, based on the
50% shareholding.
VI. IFRS STANDARDS AND ALTERNATIVE PERFORMANCE MEASURES NOT DEFINED BY IFRS

Moreover, their financial statements are converted into euros using the closing exchange rate of the relevant period.

Recurring operating income is defined as Danone’s operating income excluding Other operating income and expenses. Other operating income and expenses comprise items that, because of their significant or unusual nature, cannot be viewed as inherent to Danone’s recurring activity and have limited predictive value, thus distorting the assessment of its recurring operating performance and its evolution. These mainly include:
- capital gains and losses on disposals of businesses and fully consolidated companies;
- under IAS 36, impairment charges on intangible assets with indefinite useful lives;
- costs related to strategic restructuring operations or transformation plans;
- costs related to major external growth transactions;
- costs related to crises and major disputes;
- in connection with IFRS 3 and IFRS 10, (i) acquisition costs related to acquisitions of companies resulting in control, (ii) revaluation gains or losses accounted for following a loss of control, and (iii) changes in earn-outs subsequent to acquisitions resulting in control.
