Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

non-gaap, nim, loan-to-deposit ratio, brokered deposits
4 terms
non-gaap financial
"Adjusted net income available to common stockholders (non-GAAP)"
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.
View in glossary
nim financial
"continued NIM expansion."
NIM (net interest margin) measures the gap between the interest a bank earns on loans and other interest‑producing assets and the interest it pays to depositors and creditors, shown as a percentage of the bank’s earning assets. Think of it like a store’s markup: a wider NIM means the bank keeps more money from its core lending activity, boosting profit potential. Investors watch NIM because shifts reveal how profitable a bank’s lending is, and how sensitive that profit is to interest‑rate changes and shifts in the mix of loans versus other assets.
loan-to-deposit ratio financial
"an 83% loan-to-deposit ratio"
Loan-to-deposit ratio measures how much a bank has lent out compared with the money customers have deposited, expressed as a percentage. Think of it like the share of a household’s savings that has been loaned to others: a higher ratio can boost earnings but reduce cash on hand and increase risk, while a lower ratio means more liquidity but potentially lower returns—key for investors assessing a bank’s balance of profit and safety.
brokered deposits financial
"Core deposits (excluding brokered and time deposits)"
Brokered deposits are large sums of customer cash placed at a bank through a third-party intermediary that shops around for the best interest rate, like a broker assembling a big bucket of savings and directing it to a bank. They matter to investors because they can quickly change a bank’s funding level and cost — providing fast liquidity but also adding volatility and regulatory scrutiny that can affect a bank’s stability and profitability.

NIM Expansion and Growth in Net Interest Income Drives Record Quarterly Revenue of $135 million

Deposits Increased by 15% and Loans Increased by 8% on an Annualized Basis Versus The Linked Quarter

Asset Liability Management Profile, Which is Underpinned by $2.2 Billion of Cash and
a Growing Floating Rate Loan Portfolio, Positions Dime Well For Rising Rates

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Oct. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dime Commercial Bancshares, Inc. (NYSE: DCOM) (the “Company” or “Dime”), the parent company of Dime Commercial Bank (the “Bank”), today reported net income available to common stockholders of $39.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, or $0.90 per diluted common share, compared to net income available to common stockholders of $33.0 million, or $0.75 per diluted common share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 and net income available to common stockholders of $25.8 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, or $0.59 per diluted common share.

Adjusted net income available to common stockholders (non-GAAP) was $39.9 million and adjusted diluted EPS (non-GAAP) was $0.91 per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared to $0.79 per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, and $0.61 for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 (see "Non-GAAP Reconciliation" tables at the end of this news release).

Stuart H. Lubow, President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the Company, stated, “Dime continues to execute on our growth plan and delivered another quarter of record revenue. Third quarter results were marked by strong growth in core deposits and business loans and continued NIM expansion. Our return metrics continue to improve, and the Return on Average Assets improved to 1.10%. Our balance sheet, with $2.2 billion of cash and an 83% loan-to-deposit ratio, was intentionally constructed keeping in mind the potential for an elevated interest rate environment. We believe this highly liquid balance sheet uniquely positions Dime versus our local peers. Finally, we anticipate continued expansion in NIM and growth in Net Interest Income in the quarters ahead as we take advantage of growth opportunities and benefit from a significant loan repricing opportunity that we anticipate will continue through 2027.”

Mr. Lubow continued, “As outlined in a separate press release, this morning we announced our intention to acquire ES Bancshares, Inc., the parent company of Empire State Bank (headquartered in Staten Island). This transaction represents another logical step in Dime's growth strategy.”

Highlights for the Third Quarter of 2026 included:

Business loans include commercial and industrial loans, and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans.

(2) Includes loans underlying multifamily cooperatives.

(3) While the loans within this category are often considered "commercial real estate" in nature, multifamily and loans underlying cooperatives are here reported separately from commercial real estate loans in order to emphasize the residential nature of the collateral underlying this significant component of the total loan portfolio.

NON-GAAP RECONCILIATION
(Dollars in thousands except per share amounts)

The following tables below provide a reconciliation of certain financial measures calculated under generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") (as reported) and non-GAAP measures. A non-GAAP financial measure is a numerical measure of historical or future financial performance, financial position or cash flows that excludes or includes amounts that are required to be disclosed in the most directly comparable measure calculated and presented in accordance with GAAP in the United States. The Company’s management believes the presentation of non-GAAP financial measures provides investors with a greater understanding of the Company’s operating results in addition to the results measured in accordance with GAAP. While management uses these non-GAAP measures in its analysis of the Company’s performance, this information should not be viewed as a substitute for financial results determined in accordance with GAAP or considered to be more important than financial results determined in accordance with GAAP.

The following non-GAAP financial measures exclude pre-tax income and expenses associated with the fair value change in equity securities and loans held for sale, (gain) loss on sale of securities, loans and other assets, severance, net loss (gain) on extinguishment of debt and loss due to pension settlement.
