High school seniors are encouraged to apply for Edison International's $1.5 million STEM scholarship program.

ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- High school seniors with dreams of shaping the future can now apply for a $50,000 scholarship to pursue a college degree in STEM through the Edison Scholars program. Starting today, the program is accepting applications from students ready to take the next step toward a future in science, technology, engineering or math.

Since 2006, Edison International has awarded more than $22 million in scholarships to 850 students. Alumni of the program have gone on to build careers across STEM, including computer science, civil engineering and environmental science — helping strengthen communities and powering progress.

Designed to develop the next generation of innovators, thinkers and problem solvers, the Edison Scholars program awards scholarships, paid over four years, to 30 high school seniors across Southern California Edison’s service area each year. Scholarship recipients can also apply for a paid summer internship with SCE after completing their first year at an accredited four-year college or university.

“Developing the next generation of STEM talent starts with creating opportunities for young people who are ready to make a difference,” said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International. “The Edison Scholars program helps students pursue their education and build careers that will strengthen their communities and California’s future.”

Applicants must be high school seniors, live in SCE's service area and plan to enroll as full-time undergraduate students majoring in a STEM field in the fall of 2027. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and a demonstrated financial need. First-generation college students are encouraged to apply.

The deadline to apply for the Edison Scholars program is Jan. 21, 2027. Eligible students can apply at edisonscholars.com. Scholarship recipients will be announced in spring 2027.

The Edison Scholars program is fully funded by Edison International shareholders.
