data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud-based platforms, +3 more
7 terms
data analytics technical
"will lead the Data Analytics & AI team within the practice"
Data analytics is the process of examining large amounts of information to uncover patterns, trends, and insights. It helps investors make better decisions by turning complex data into clear, useful knowledge, much like how a detective finds clues to solve a mystery. This approach enables smarter planning and risk management in financial activities.
artificial intelligence technical
"experience leading data analytics and artificial intelligence initiatives"
Artificial intelligence is the ability of computers and machines to perform tasks that typically require human thinking, such as understanding language, recognizing patterns, or making decisions. For investors, it matters because AI can enhance efficiency, uncover new insights, and enable smarter strategies, potentially impacting the value and performance of companies that develop or utilize this technology.
machine learning technical
"expertise in system modelling, machine learning and digital transformation"
Machine learning is a set of computer programs that learn patterns from large amounts of data and improve their predictions or decisions over time, like a recipe that gets better each time it’s adjusted based on taste tests. For investors it matters because these systems can speed up analysis, spot trends or risks humans might miss, automate routine work, and potentially create competitive advantages or cost savings that affect a company’s performance.
cloud-based platforms technical
"harness advanced analytics, cloud-based platforms and intelligent decision support"
Cloud-based platforms are software and services run on remote computers you access over the internet instead of installing them on your own machine, like renting workspace and tools in a shared building instead of owning a workshop. For investors they matter because they often enable faster growth, predictable subscription revenue, lower upfront costs and easier updates, while introducing dependencies on service providers, internet reliability and data security that can affect a company's value.
digital twins technical
"solutions, including cloud-based platforms, advanced decision-support tools, simulation, digital twins"
Digital twins are virtual replicas of physical objects, systems, or processes that simulate their real-world counterparts in real time. They allow users to monitor, analyze, and predict how the actual entity will behave under different conditions. For investors, digital twins can provide valuable insights into performance and potential risks, helping to make better-informed decisions.
simulation technical
"delivery of complex analytical solutions, including cloud-based platforms, advanced decision-support tools, simulation"
A simulation is a computer model or mock run that imitates real-world business, market, clinical, or operational processes to predict outcomes and test decisions without doing them for real. Like a flight simulator or dress rehearsal, it lets managers and analysts explore “what if” scenarios, estimate risks, and compare strategies under different assumptions. For investors, simulations help quantify uncertainty, stress-test forecasts, and inform valuation and risk management decisions.
decision support technical
"intelligent decision support to improve outcomes, efficiency and resilience"
Decision support is the collection of tools, data and analyses that help managers, clinicians or regulators choose between options by turning complex information into clear recommendations or scenarios. Investors care because these capabilities can speed better choices, reduce costly mistakes and improve outcomes—think of it like a GPS for business or clinical decisions that can lower risk, save time and preserve value.
