IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it has received full notice to proceed under its engineering, procurement and construction management contract with Sierra Gorda Sociedad Contractual Minera (SGSCM) for the Fourth Grinding Line Expansion Project in Chile.Fluor will recognize the undisclosed contract value in the third quarter of 2026.

engineering, procurement and construction managementtechnical
A project delivery approach where a firm handles detailed design, sources major equipment and materials, and oversees construction on behalf of the project owner, acting like the owner’s project manager. It matters to investors because the firm’s performance determines whether a project is built on time, on budget and to specification—similar to hiring a general contractor for a house, where delays or cost overruns directly affect returns, cash flow and project risk.
brownfieldtechnical
A brownfield is a property or site that has been previously developed or used—often with existing buildings, infrastructure, or environmental contamination—and is being reused, redeveloped, or expanded rather than built on from scratch. For investors it matters because brownfields can offer cost and time savings compared with starting new (like renovating an old house versus building one), but they also carry risks such as cleanup obligations, regulatory delays, and hidden expenses that affect returns and timelines.
high-pressure grinding rolltechnical
A high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) is industrial milling equipment that crushes ore or rock by feeding it between two counter-rotating rolls squeezed together under very high pressure; particles fracture by inter-particle compression rather than by impact. HPGRs are used in mineral processing to reduce particle size with lower energy consumption and a higher proportion of micro-cracks compared with conventional tumbling mills; the product size is controlled by the roll gap and pressure, and the feed must be within a specified size range and hardness for efficient operation.
flotationtechnical
Flotation is the process where a privately held business makes its shares available to the public by listing them on a stock exchange, commonly called an initial public offering (IPO). For investors it matters because flotation creates a market price and trading chance for those shares, signals a company's growth plans and need for capital, and changes how the business is governed — like a small shop selling ownership stakes to many new customers to raise money and spread risk.
