Gold.com Reports Fiscal First Quarter 2027 Results
Gross margin improved from both comparison quarters, while revenue and profitability remained below the preceding quarter.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Gold.com (NYSE: GOLD) reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 net income of $1.6 million, returning to profit from a year-earlier loss. For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, diluted earnings were $0.05 per share versus a $0.04 loss a year earlier, but below $0.41 in the preceding quarter. Revenue fell 11% year over year and 35% sequentially to $3.265 billion.
Gross profit rose 23% year over year to $89.6 million but fell 19% sequentially. Gross margin reached 2.74%, versus 1.98% a year earlier and 2.20% in the preceding quarter. Non-GAAP earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization totaled $17.4 million, up 22% year over year but down 38% sequentially. New direct-to-consumer customers increased 38% year over year to 96,100, while average order value fell 10% to $3,482. Selling, general and administrative expenses rose 19% to $71.2 million. The company declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.20 per share.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gold.com, Inc. (NYSE: GOLD), (“Gold.com” or the “Company”), a fully integrated alternative assets platform that offers an extensive range of precious metals, numismatic coins, and collectibles to consumers, collectors, and institutional clients worldwide, reported results for the fiscal first quarter ended September 30, 2026.
Management Commentary
“Our fiscal first quarter reflects the resilience of our fully integrated platform in a slower market environment,” said Gold.com CEO Greg Roberts. “Activity moderated from the exceptional levels we saw earlier this year, but it was higher than a year ago, with more gold and silver ounces sold and a larger customer base, and profitability improved. During the quarter, we navigated through uncertainty from the global markets, including fluctuating precious metal valuations, yet we expanded gross margins while continuing to evaluate strategic growth initiatives.”
“Operationally, we remained focused on driving synergies across our business units and maximizing efficiencies at every level, positioning us against shifting macroeconomic backdrops and regional bullion demand trends. Our acquisition of Sunshine Mint at the beginning of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 has meaningfully expanded our production capabilities, further strengthening our vertically integrated model, giving us greater control over product availability and pricing stability across our supply chain.
“Our strategic focus remains on integrating our recent acquisitions, expanding our geographic reach, and further diversifying our customer base. With an expanded portfolio of category-leading brands, improved operational leverage and the financial strength to keep investing, we believe Gold.com is positioned to capture growth across multiple markets and continue delivering long-term value for our shareholders.”

Important Cautions Regarding Forward-Looking Statements
Statements in this press release that relate to future plans, objectives, expectations, performance, events and the like are "forward-looking statements" within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. These include statements regarding expectations with respect to growth, the delivery of long-term value, expense optimization, cost containment and operating leverage. Future events, risks and uncertainties, individually or in the aggregate, could cause actual results or circumstances to differ materially from those expressed or implied in these statements. Factors that could cause actual results to differ include the following: The failure to execute the Company’s growth strategy, including the inability to identify suitable or available acquisition or investment opportunities; greater than anticipated costs incurred to execute this strategy; our inability to execute on our cost containment and expense reduction programs; government regulations that might impede growth, particularly in Asia, including with respect to tariff policy; the inability to successfully integrate our recently acquired businesses; the inability of the Company successfully to expand its business to include cryptocurrency; the inability of the Company to work with its strategic partners to combine traditional precious metal assets and a blockchain based infrastructure; changes in the current international political climate, which historically has favorably contributed to demand and volatility in the precious metals markets but also has posed certain risks and uncertainties for the Company; increased competition for the Company’s higher margin services, which could depress pricing; the failure of the Company’s business model to respond to changes in the market environment as anticipated; changes in consumer demand and preferences for precious metal products generally; potential negative effects that inflationary pressure may have on our business; the failure of our investee companies to maintain, or address the preferences of, their customer bases; general risks of doing business in the commodity markets; and the strategic, business, economic, financial, political and governmental risks and other Risk Factors described in the Company’s public filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Company undertakes no obligation to publicly update or revise any forward-looking statements. Readers are cautioned not to place undue reliance on these forward-looking statements.
Use and Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Measures
In addition to presenting the Company’s financial results determined in accordance with U.S. GAAP, management believes the following non-GAAP measures are useful in evaluating the Company’s operating performance: “adjusted net income before provision for income taxes” and “earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization” (“EBITDA”). Management believes the “adjusted net income before provision for income taxes” non-GAAP financial performance measure assists investors and analysts by facilitating comparison of period-to-period operational performance on a consistent basis by excluding items that management does not believe are indicative of the Company’s core operating performance. The items excluded from this financial measure may have a material impact on the Company’s financial results. Certain of those items are non-recurring, while others are non-cash in nature. Management believes the EBITDA non-GAAP liquidity measure assists investors and analysts by facilitating comparison of our business operations before investing activities, interest, and income taxes with other publicly traded companies. Non-GAAP measures do not have standardized definitions and should be considered in addition to, and not as a substitute for or superior to, the comparable measures prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and should be read in conjunction with the financial statements included in the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q to be filed with the SEC. Management encourages investors and others to review the Company’s financial information in its entirety and not to rely on any single financial or liquidity measure.
In the Company’s reconciliation from its reported U.S. GAAP “net income before provision for income taxes” to its non-GAAP “adjusted net income before provision for income taxes”, the Company eliminates the impact of the following five amounts: remeasurement gains or losses related to pre-existing equity interests; acquisition costs; amortization expenses related to intangible assets acquired; depreciation expense; and contingent consideration fair value adjustments. The Company’s reconciliations from its reported U.S. GAAP “net income before provision for income taxes” to its non-GAAP “adjusted net income before provision for income taxes”, and “net income” and “net cash provided by (used in) operating activities” to its non-GAAP “EBITDA” are provided below and are also included in the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q to be filed with the SEC for the quarterly period ended September 30, 2026.

Gold.com earned $1.6 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, in the quarter ended September 30, 2026. That compared with a $0.9 million net loss and a $0.04 diluted loss per share a year earlier. In the preceding quarter, net income was $12.2 million and diluted earnings were $0.41 per share.

Why did Gold.com's fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue decline despite higher metals sales?
A $1.368 billion decrease in forward sales accompanied the reported revenue decline. Excluding that decrease, revenue increased $0.953 billion, or 51%, year over year. The company attributed that increase to higher average gold and silver selling prices and more ounces sold; the Monex and SMI acquisitions also added revenue.
What drove Gold.com's increase in new direct-to-consumer customers?
Gold.com attributed the year-over-year increase primarily to the January 2026 Monex acquisition and JM Bullion's activity. New direct-to-consumer customers include people who registered, opened an account or purchased for the first time during the quarter; the measure is not limited to purchasers.
