Sinsley will uphold Minty’s commitment to legal compliance and best practices as the company expands across proactive commerce channels

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Minty, the fastest-growing AI shopping companion, today announced the appointment of Barbara Sinsley as its new Chief Legal and Privacy Officer. Sinsley will lead Minty’s legal and privacy strategy as the company expands its AI-powered shopping capabilities.

Minty leverages AI to connect shoppers with brands through cashback and rewards across its iOS and Google Play apps, Safari and Chrome browser extensions, ChatGPT and other AI platforms. It also runs an MCP server from which agents can pull the best merchant offers directly.

Shopping is shifting toward proactive commerce, where AI assistants and autonomous agents deliver value before online shoppers click, search or abandon carts. As that happens, questions about data protection, consumer consent and regulatory compliance are changing just as quickly and Sinsley will lead Minty’s approach to them.

“Trust is fundamental to our relationships with shoppers and brand partners, and protecting sensitive information is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Jon West, Co-founder and CEO of Minty. “Barbara has spent her career in industries where consumer data rules were created and enforced. She knows what regulators expect and how to build programs that hold up when technology moves quickly.”

Sinsley’s deep expertise in highly regulated industries, including financial services and credit reporting, will ensure Minty manages sensitive information in a way that supports the company’s growth and end goals.

“Proactive commerce is creating tremendous opportunities, but it also raises important questions about how consumer and partner information is accessed, shared and protected,” said Sinsley. “My role includes not only leading how data best moves between shoppers, agents and our partner brands, but also the development of best new practices in proactive commerce with Minty as the industry leading pioneer.”

Before joining Minty, Sinsley was the Chief Legal and Privacy Officer for MeldCX PTY LTD. Prior to that, she was General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of FactorTrust Inc., a credit reporting agency acquired by TransUnion, and served as General Counsel to LSQ Funding Group. She also spent time as General Counsel to the Receivables Management Association (RMA).

Sinsley is an Independent Director of Heritage Global Inc. (NASDAQ: HGBL) and was named the 2026 Volunteer of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of the Plateau, where she served as a Director.

Minty’s commitment to privacy is supported by its AICPA SOC2 compliance and TRUSTe privacy certifications, which include regular independent audits by the AICPA and TRUSTe.

An independent attestation, issued by a licensed CPA under the AICPA’s SOC 2 framework, that evaluates whether a service organization has designed and (for Type II) operated internal controls addressing one or more Trust Services Criteria—commonly Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy. A SOC 2 report describes the scope and tests of the organization’s systems and controls; a Type I report covers suitability of design at a point in time, while a Type II report covers operating effectiveness over a defined period. It is an auditor’s opinion about controls, not a government certification or a guarantee of zero risk, and applies only to the systems and time period specified in the report.
