4 terms
senior secured financial
"a fully underwritten 7-year senior secured structured project finance facility"
Senior secured describes a loan or bond that has first claim on a company’s assets and is backed by specific collateral, like a mortgage on property. For investors, that means they are paid before other creditors if the company struggles or is liquidated, reducing the chance of loss compared with unsecured or junior debt. Think of it as a front-of-the-line, collateral-backed claim that typically carries lower interest because of that added protection.
project finance facility financial
"a fully underwritten 7-year senior secured structured project finance facility"
A project finance facility is a loan or package of credit arranged specifically to build, own or operate a single project (like a power plant, toll road or pipeline) and is repaid mainly from the cash the project itself generates. Lenders take security in the project’s contracts and assets and usually limit recourse to the project vehicle, so it resembles a mortgage tied to one property rather than the borrower’s broader balance sheet; investors watch these deals for their defined cash flows, collateral and risk-sharing structure.
cost overrun facility financial
"supported by a cost overrun facility of up to $100 million"
A cost overrun facility is a committed source of funds reserved to pay for unexpected extra expenses when a project or capital program exceeds its original budget. Investors care because it lowers the chance that cost surprises will force additional equity, debt, project delays, or cancellations — think of it like a backup reserve or emergency credit line that keeps a major project funded without scrambling for cash.
offtake rights financial
"retained 100% of the offtake rights to the project"
A contractual right allowing a buyer to purchase a future share or all of a producer’s output (such as minerals, energy, or manufactured goods) at agreed terms. Like pre-ordering and locking in supply from a factory, offtake rights give the seller predictable revenue and the buyer assured access to product. Investors watch them because they reduce sales risk, help secure project financing, and can materially affect a company’s future cash flow and valuation.
