Key Terms

5g-advanced technical
5G-Advanced is the next evolution of 5G wireless technology that brings faster speeds, quicker response times, improved coverage and smarter use of network resources—think of it as upgrading a highway with more lanes and adaptive traffic lights. It matters to investors because the upgrade spurs spending by carriers on network equipment, encourages sales of newer devices and enables new services (like richer mobile apps, industrial IoT and connected vehicles) that can create fresh revenue streams and competitive shifts.
multipath propagation technical
Multipath propagation is when a wireless signal reaches a receiver by taking multiple routes—bouncing off buildings, the ground, or other objects—so the receiver gets several slightly different copies of the same transmission. Like hearing echoes of the same shout from different walls, those copies can add up or cancel each other, degrading speed, range, or reliability. Investors should care because multipath effects influence the performance of networks and devices, drive engineering costs, and can affect customer experience and competitive positioning in wireless markets.
key performance indicators technical
Key performance indicators are specific measurements used to track how well a person, team, or organization is achieving its goals. They act like report cards, providing clear signs of progress or areas needing improvement. For investors, KPIs help assess the health and future potential of a business by highlighting its most important strengths and challenges.
6g technical
6G is the next-generation wireless network technology being developed to succeed 5G, promising much faster data speeds, minimal delays, and the ability to connect far more devices and sensors. For investors it matters because building 6G will create long-term demand for new equipment, chips, software, and services—similar to upgrading from a two-lane road to a smart multi-lane highway—and can reshape which companies earn revenue as networks, devices, and applications evolve.

Award honors Keysight’s AI Device Testbed, built to validate AI-enabled devices in real-world 5G-Advanced conditions in the lab

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) has received the 2026 Innovative Technology Breakthrough Award from the GTI (Global Technology Association of InfoComm). The award recognizes Keysight’s AI Device Testbed, a solution that enables comprehensive validation of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled devices in 5G-Advanced networks. Presented at the GTI Awards Ceremony during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the award highlights Keysight’s leadership in bringing AI and 5G-Advanced together in a practical, testable way.

As AI becomes integral to next-generation wireless systems, the industry faces a growing challenge: validating AI-driven device behavior under real-world network conditions before commercial deployment. Field testing can be expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to repeat. At the same time, traditional lab testing often cannot capture the complexity of dense urban networks, high-speed mobility, multipath propagation, and interference. Without a scalable and repeatable validation method, manufacturers and operators struggle to benchmark performance, compare approaches, and build confidence ahead of deployment.

Keysight’s AI Device Testbed addresses this gap by bringing complex, real-world 5G-Advanced conditions into a controlled laboratory environment. It enables customers to reproduce diverse deployment scenarios, run objective benchmarking of AI-driven capabilities, and scale evaluation across large datasets and iterative model development. With automated analysis of key performance indicators such as throughput, mobility, battery efficiency, and user experience, the testbed helps customers shorten development cycles, reduce research and development costs, and accelerate delivery of reliable AI-optimized 5G-Advanced devices, while preparing for the industry’s shift toward AI-native 6G systems.

Peng Cao, Vice President and General Manager, Wireless Test Group, Keysight, said: “This award recognizes a major shift in wireless. AI is moving from the application layer into both the network and the device. Keysight’s AI Device Testbed gives the ecosystem a repeatable way to validate AI-driven performance under realistic 5G-Advanced conditions, helping customers reduce risk, improve confidence, and bring innovation to market faster.”
