Last night, CBS and Paramount+ broadcast “A GRAMMY® Salute to Cyndi Lauper: Live from the Hollywood Bowl,” an all-star concert filmed during the final two shows of her global, 68-date Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour over Labor Day weekend. The two hour special features Lauper’s iconic songs and special performances by Joni Mitchell, Cher, John Legend, SZA, Angelique Kidjo, Mickey Guyton, Trombone Shorty, Jake Wesley Rogers, and video tributes from Brandi Carlile and Billie Eilish.

It’s been a tremendous past several months for Lauper. Her Farewell Tour crossed the globe, earned major raves and included her first time headlining, and selling out, Madison Square Garden. The tour featured guest appearances by Chaka Khan, Sam Smith and Hayley Williams, and original collaborations featuring the work of Yayoi Kusama, Daniel Wurtzel, fashion designer Christian Siriano, and Geoffrey Mac. A feature-length documentary on Lauper’s remarkable life and career – Let The Canary Sing, directed by Alison Ellwood – is available on Paramount+, and she has recently appeared on programs including The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Good Morning America, Graham Norton, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS Sunday Morning to talk about her legendary career and advocacy.
