"artificial intelligence (AI) and the Energy Internet of Things (Energy IoT)"
A network of connected sensors, meters, controllers and software that collect and exchange data about energy generation, distribution and consumption so operators or automated systems can monitor, control and optimize electrical, heating or fuel systems. Devices (for example smart meters, grid sensors, building controls and EV chargers) send measurements to edge or cloud platforms where analytics and control commands coordinate things like demand response, local generation, storage and load balancing. It is not a single product or protocol but an application of Internet of Things technology to energy systems, and its operation depends on interoperable devices, communications networks, software platforms and appropriate cybersecurity and regulatory controls.
