Key Terms

2 terms
most-favored-nation regulatory
"prospective Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) commitment for applicable future innovative product launches"
A most-favored-nation (MFN) clause is a contract provision that guarantees one party will receive terms at least as favorable as those offered to any other counterparty for the same product, service, or security. It matters to investors because MFN clauses can lock in pricing, royalties, or protections that affect future revenue, competitive positioning, and the terms available to other counterparties—think of it like a promise that you won’t be charged more or given weaker rights than anyone else gets in comparable deals.
active pharmaceutical ingredients technical
"a dedicated reserve of certain active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in support of public health needs"
The active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) is the specific chemical or biological substance in a medicine that produces the intended health effect — the ‘engine’ that treats, prevents or diagnoses a condition. Investors watch APIs because they determine a drug’s cost, quality, regulatory approval and patent protection; shortages, manufacturing problems or competition at the API level can directly affect a drug maker’s sales and valuation.
