LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC) (the “Company”), a leading civil, building and specialty construction company, announced today that its subsidiary, Fisk Electric Company (“Fisk”), has been awarded an electrical services contract for a confidential data center customer in Houston, Texas. The contract value is approximately $24 million.

Fisk’s scope of work includes prefabrication and assembly of modular containment systems and related electrical infrastructure, including liquid-cooled components and piping, for a new ground-up data center. These units will be built at Fisk’s new 75,000-square-foot prefabrication/manufacturing facility in Houston.

This new emerging prefabrication market is in high demand due to the nationwide shortage of electricians, enabling Fisk to increase its prefabrication work when serving as the prime electrical contractor supporting data center owners, developers, and general contractors in refining offsite manufacturing to ensure schedules are met with the limited resources available nationwide.

Electrical construction work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 with substantial completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2027. The contract value will be reflected in the Company’s backlog for the third quarter of 2026.

Key Terms

prefabrication technical
Prefabrication is the process of manufacturing building components or modules in a factory or controlled facility and then transporting and assembling them at the final site. For investors, it matters because factory-made parts can speed project completion, reduce on-site labor and weather risks, improve quality and predictability, and shift where and when a company spends cash—affecting timelines, costs, margins and project risk.
substantial completion technical
Substantial completion is the point when a construction project or asset is finished enough to be used for its intended purpose, even though minor fixes or unfinished items remain. For investors this milestone often triggers major events like final payments, insurance/ liability shifts, the start of revenue generation, or release of retained funds—so it signals reduced construction risk and a move toward cash flow and returns, much like handing over car keys when the vehicle runs despite small scratches.
