WEST COLUMBIA, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The U-Haul^® center at 400 Orchard Drive in West Columbia, which had been a full-service facility for 42 years, has closed several services and become a remotely operated facility. The transition was completed today.

As a result of closing services at U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Columbia, six Team Members were let go.

The Orchard Drive facility will continue to serve customers with self-storage, truck rentals, moving supplies, and a U-Box^® portable storage containers while being operated by parent store U-Haul Moving & Storage of Cayce at 1500 Charleston Highway, just two miles away.

Services halted at the Orchard Drive store include trailer and towing equipment rentals; truck sales; profession hitch instillations; pre-tow inspections; and support rental items. All of these services and more are available at the U-Haul of Cayce facility.
