adjusted EBITDA financial
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
adjusted diluted EPS financial
Adjusted diluted EPS is a company’s profit per share after adding back or removing one-time items (like restructuring costs or gains) and dividing by the number of shares including potential shares from options and convertible securities. Investors use it as a cleaner view of ongoing earnings—like looking at a car’s regular fuel efficiency rather than a trip boosted by downhill coasting—to judge underlying performance and compare companies without temporary distortions.
non-GAAP financial
Non-GAAP refers to financial measures that companies use to show their earnings or performance without including certain expenses or income that are often added back to give a different picture. It matters because it can make a company's results look better or more favorable, but it may also hide important costs, so investors need to look at both GAAP (official rules) and non-GAAP numbers to get a full understanding.
LIFO financial
An accounting method that assumes the most recently acquired inventory items are sold first, so the newest costs flow into cost of goods sold while older costs stay on the balance sheet. Imagine a stack of boxes where you take from the top; when prices are rising, that top-first approach produces higher reported costs and lower reported profits, which can reduce taxes and change profit margins. Investors watch LIFO because it affects reported earnings, tax liabilities, and how comparable a company’s performance is to peers.
restructuring activity financial
Restructuring activity is when a company reorganizes its operations, finances or ownership—like rearranging a household after a major change—to cut costs, pay down debt, sell or close parts of the business, or change how it is funded. For investors it matters because these moves can reduce risk and boost long-term profits but often bring short-term costs, asset sales, workforce cuts or changes to shareholder value that can raise volatility or dilute ownership.
asset impairment charges financial
Asset impairment charges happen when a company realizes that the value of something it owns, like equipment or property, has dropped significantly and is now worth less than its current book value. This is important because it shows the company needs to write down the asset's value on its financial records, which can affect its profits and overall financial health.
share-based compensation financial
Share-based compensation is when a company pays employees, executives or directors with its own stock or rights to buy stock instead of, or in addition to, cash. Think of it like receiving store gift cards instead of extra paycheck — it can motivate staff to boost the company’s value, but it also increases the number of shares outstanding and can shrink each existing owner’s slice of profits and voting power. Investors watch it because it affects reported earnings, share count and the alignment between management and shareholders.
losses on extinguishments of debt financial
When a company retires or pays off borrowed money early and the amount paid exceeds the remaining book value, it records a loss on extinguishment of debt. Think of it like paying off a mortgage early and incurring a prepayment penalty — the extra cost reduces reported profit and can use cash. Investors care because such losses lower earnings and may signal changes in debt strategy, but they are often one-time, nonrecurring items that don't always reflect ongoing business performance.

1 The Company is not providing a reconciliation of certain forward-looking non-GAAP financial measures, including Adjusted EBITDA and Adjusted Diluted EPS, because the Company is unable to predict with reasonable certainty the financial impact of certain significant items, including restructuring activity and asset impairment charges, share-based compensation expenses, non-cash impacts of LIFO reserve adjustments, losses on extinguishments of debt, business transformation costs, other gains and losses, business acquisition and integration related costs and divestiture costs and diluted earnings per share. These items are uncertain, depend on various factors, and could have a material impact on GAAP reported results for the guidance periods. For the same reasons, the Company is unable to address the significance of the unavailable information, which could be material to future results.
