NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Academy Asset Management, a veteran-owned institutional asset manager and affiliate of Academy Securities, the nation’s first Post-9/11 veteran owned and operated investment bank, today announced that Nate Neibauer has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Management.

Nate Neibauer joins Academy Asset Management after serving as Head of Investments at Amazon, where he established the company’s in-house investment team and managed over $100 billion of strategies. He directed the plan and execution of the portfolio management function, including the governance framework, operating model, and portfolio infrastructure. In addition, he also oversaw the company’s external mandates and led short-term funding, directing the issuance of the company’s $30 billion commercial paper program. Lastly, he managed liquidity, counterparty risk, and investment advisory support across the company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Neibauer spent twelve years at the Ford Motor Company, most recently as a Senior Portfolio Manager in Fixed Income Trading overseeing the company’s liquidity portfolio.

Mr. Neibauer earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
