SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE: VLO, “Valero”) announced today that Gary K. Simmons, Valero’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, has been promoted and elected by the Board of Directors as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Valero, effective July 20, 2023.

Gary has led Valero’s commercial organization since 2014 and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer since January 2020. In his new role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Gary will also have oversight responsibility for all refining operations.
