Insights

Volaris posted mixed October 2025 traffic: slight monthly RPM decline and lower load factor, but modest YTD growth in traffic and capacity.

Volaris reported October 2025 system RPMs down 0.6% year‑over‑year while ASMs rose 1.1%, producing a load factor decline to 85.9% (down 1.5 points). Domestic RPMs fell 1.9% as domestic ASMs fell 0.9%, keeping domestic load factor high at 91.0%. International RPMs rose 1.4% on a larger 3.8% increase in international ASMs, driving a wider international load factor decline to 79.0%.

The business mechanism is straightforward: capacity grew while total demand edged down in the month, lowering utilization metrics despite still-robust domestic demand and passenger counts (2.6 million passengers in October, ~2.55 million scheduled and charter per the table). Principal dependencies and risks include near-term demand trends in cross-border markets and the company’s ability to align capacity to bookings; the release notes sequential improvement but provides no forward guidance beyond year‑to‑date comparisons. Watch the upcoming monthly traffic releases and any commentary around capacity pacing versus bookings over the next 1–3 months to confirm whether international load factors recover to prior-year levels or capacity remains outpacing demand.

MEXICO CITY, Nov. 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación, S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: VOLAR) (“Volaris” or “the Company”), the ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) serving Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, reports its October 2025 preliminary traffic results.

In October, Volaris’ ASM capacity increased 1.1%, while RPMs for the month declined 0.6%. Mexican domestic RPMs decreased 1.9%, while international RPMs rose 1.4%. Consolidated load factor decreased by 1.5 percentage points year-over-year to 85.9%. During the month, Volaris transported 2.6 million passengers.

Enrique Beltranena, Volaris’ President and CEO, said: “Our October results reflect strong travel sentiment, as we continue to see sequential improvement across our network, consistent with the trends shared in our third-quarter earnings call. Domestic demand remains healthy and aligned with historical seasonality. In the cross-border market, current booking trends support our view that we are at an inflection point and sales are returning to levels similar to last year. We remain focused on disciplined execution as we close out the year, positioning us well to continue delivering sustainable value.”
