Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Everest Group, Ltd. (EG) published an unaudited recast second-quarter 2026 financial supplement covering prior-period data from the second quarter of 2025 through the second quarter of 2026.

The supplement refines the definitions of After-tax net operating income (loss) and underwriting income (loss), changing the presentation of After-tax NOI return on equity, After-tax NOI per diluted share, the loss ratio and the combined ratio. The underwriting-income definition adjusts for prior-year favorable or unfavorable reserve development on reserves subject to the adverse development cover (ADC), and the related amortization of the deferred gain from prior-year incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses. The supplement also introduces a Legacy-segment measure for net reserves for losses and loss adjustment expenses before the impact of ADC performance, and revises Global Wholesale & Specialty gross written premium presentation by line of business.

Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure Disclosure
Material non-public information disclosed under Regulation Fair Disclosure, often investor presentations or guidance.
After-tax net operating income (loss) financial
"definition of after-tax net operating income (loss)"
adverse development cover financial
"reserves subject to the adverse development cover (ADC)"
Adverse development cover is a form of insurance for insurers that kicks in when past claims or loss estimates turn out to be larger than originally reserved, paying the excess amount above those reserves. For investors, it matters because it reduces the chance of sudden, unexpected hits to an insurer’s reported profits and capital—like a contingency fund or backup loan that limits the financial shock if earlier cost estimates prove too low.
loss adjustment expenses financial
"incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses"
Costs an insurance company incurs to investigate, process, defend and settle claims — for example, fees for claims adjusters, legal defense, and settlement negotiations. These expenses act like the labor and admin needed to handle a warranty repair: they don’t pay the claim itself but add to the total cost of claims, so rising loss adjustment expenses reduce insurers’ profits and signal how efficiently future claims are likely to be handled.
combined ratio financial
"presentation of the loss ratio and combined ratio"
The combined ratio is a way insurance companies measure how well they are doing by adding up all their costs and claims and comparing them to the money they earn from premiums. If the ratio is below 100%, it means the company is making a profit; if it's above 100%, they are losing money. It helps see if an insurance company is financially healthy or not.
gross written premium financial
"gross written premium by line of business results"
Gross written premium is the total value of insurance policies a company has sold during a period, measured before any cancellations, refunds or transfers to other insurers are taken out. Think of it as the company’s topline sales number for insurance, like a store reporting total receipts before returns — it shows scale and sales momentum and helps investors gauge growth, market share and potential exposure to claims.
