Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Halliburton Company reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $5.703 billion, compared with $5.600 billion a year earlier, and operating income of $624 million versus $356 million. Net income attributable to the company was $417 million, versus $18 million; third-quarter impairments and other charges were $107 million, compared with $392 million a year earlier.
Drilling and Evaluation revenue increased 10% to $2.614 billion and operating income increased 12% to $391 million. Completion and Production revenue fell 4% to $3.089 billion, and operating income fell 11% to $457 million. North America revenue decreased 9%, while international revenue increased 9%.
Operating cash flow for the first nine months was $1.465 billion, versus $1.761 billion a year earlier. Halliburton held $1.843 billion in cash as of September 30, 2026, repurchased 15.2 million shares for $558 million, including excise tax paid on prior-year repurchases, and paid $426 million in dividends. The company expects 2026 capital spending of approximately $1.1 billion. Jill D. Sharp, Senior Vice President, Internal Assurance Services, adopted a Rule 10b5-1 trading arrangement covering 50,930 shares on August 5, 2026, with a plan end date of May 19, 2027.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.
