How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

At September 30, government guarantees reduced reported net exposure on nonaccrual loans to about 4.1 million.

This Form 8-K furnishes West Coast Community Bancorp's unaudited third-quarter results and investor presentation for the completed quarter ended September 30, 2026. At quarter-end, the company reported $1.63 billion in net available liquidity against about $1.35 billion of uninsured and uncollateralized deposits, a 120% coverage ratio.

The liquidity total combines on-balance-sheet liquidity and external contingency liquidity capacity, so it is not cash alone.

The company also reports that $7.8 million in government guarantees reduced net credit exposure on $11.9 million of nonaccrual loans to about $4.1 million; the guarantees reduce reported exposure but do not erase the loans.

taxable equivalent net interest margin financial
"The taxable equivalent net interest margin was 5.20%"
A taxable equivalent net interest margin measures how much a bank earns from its interest-bearing assets after converting any tax-free interest into the taxable equivalent and subtracting the bank’s interest costs, then dividing by average earning assets. Think of it as putting all income streams into the same tax “currency” so investors can fairly compare how efficiently different institutions earn interest, regardless of whether some income is tax-exempt or not.
accelerated purchase discount accretion financial
"$1.8 million of accelerated purchase discount accretion"
allowance for credit losses financial
"Allowance for credit losses on loans"
Allowance for credit losses is a reserve set aside by a financial institution to cover potential losses from borrowers who may not repay their loans. It acts like a safety net, helping the institution prepare for loans that might turn sour. For investors, it signals how cautious the institution is about the quality of its loans and potential risks to its financial health.
nonaccrual loans financial
"Nonaccrual loans of $11.9 million"
Nonaccrual loans are loans a lender has stopped counting toward interest income because the borrower is overdue or unlikely to pay; the lender only records cash payments received and may set aside extra funds to cover potential losses. For investors, a rising number or amount of nonaccrual loans signals weaker credit quality, lower future interest revenue and larger potential write-downs — similar to pausing expected subscription income when many customers stop paying.
tangible common equity financial
"Tangible common equity was $341.6 million"
Tangible common equity is the portion of a company’s net worth that belongs to ordinary shareholders after removing intangible items (like goodwill or patents) and any preferred claims; it’s often expressed on a per-share basis. Think of it as the hard, sellable value left for common owners if you removed non-physical assets and paid off debts—investors use it to judge how much real cushion a company has and whether the stock might be under- or over-valued.
Net income $16.7 million Up 37.7% from the second quarter of 2026 ($12.2 million)
Diluted EPS $1.59 Compared with $1.16 in the second quarter of 2026
Net interest income $37.1 million Up 12.0% from the second quarter of 2026 ($33.1 million)

West Coast Community Bancorp Announces Earnings for the
Third Quarter of 2026

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- West Coast Community Bancorp (Nasdaq: WCCB) ("Bancorp" or the "Company"), the parent company of West Coast Community Bank (the “Bank”), announced unaudited net income for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, of $16.7 million, compared to $12.2 million for the second quarter of 2026, representing an increase of 37.7%. Net income was $43.9 million and $36.7 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, and 2025, respectively, representing an increase of 19.7%. Diluted earnings per share (“EPS”) for the third quarter of 2026 were $1.59 compared to $1.16 for the second quarter of 2026. Diluted EPS was $4.17 and $3.45 for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, and 2025, respectively.

Earnings for the third quarter of 2026 reflected higher net interest income stemming from growth in all categories of average interest-earning assets, including growth in loans, as well as the recognition of a $920 thousand income tax benefit associated with the Bank's purchase of renewable energy tax credits at a discount during the third quarter. This income tax benefit increased both basic and diluted EPS by approximately $0.09 during the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026. Earnings for the third quarter also benefited from the absence of $1.8 million of accelerated purchase discount accretion, which was recorded in the second quarter of 2026, and was associated with the redemption of higher-cost subordinated debentures assumed in the merger with 1st Capital Bancorp in 2024 ("sub debt redemption"). The sub debt redemption reduced both basic and diluted EPS by approximately $0.12 during the second quarter as well as for the nine months ended September 30, 2026.

"We delivered record quarterly earnings, marked by higher net interest income driven by solid loan growth – particularly by our San Luis Obispo County team – and overall higher average interest-earning assets funded through healthy deposit growth during the quarter,” said Krista Snelling, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of West Coast Community Bancorp. "This quarter saw tremendous momentum across the business, including our expansion into Silicon Valley and the Peninsula and our Nasdaq listing. We continue to execute on our strategic priorities and growth initiatives, such as hiring our Private Banking team and opening new branches."

As previously announced on October 19, 2026, the Bancorp Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.29 per common share, reflecting a $0.04 per share increase over the previous quarterly dividend. This dividend is payable on or about November 6, 2026, to shareholders of record as of November 2, 2026. “Increasing the dividend reflects the strength of our business, the confidence of our Board in our capacity for future growth and a commitment to rewarding our shareholders,” added Snelling.

(a) Net interest margin is calculated by dividing annualized taxable equivalent net interest income, a non-GAAP measure, by period average interest-earning assets. Interest income on tax-exempt securities and loans are presented on a taxable-equivalent basis using the federal statutory rate of 21 percent. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.
(b) Cost of funds is computed by dividing annualized interest expense by the sum of period average deposits and borrowings.
(c) Efficiency ratio, a non-GAAP measure, equals total noninterest expenses divided by the sum of net interest income and noninterest income. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.
(d) Return on average tangible equity, a non-GAAP measure, is calculated by dividing annualized net income (adjusted for the after-tax amortization of intangible assets) by average tangible equity for the period. Tangible common equity is defined in note (f) below. In this release we also may refer to tangible common equity as tangible equity. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.
(e) Tangible common equity ratio, a non-GAAP measure, is calculated by dividing tangible common equity, as defined in note (f) below, by assets less goodwill and other intangible assets. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪Total loans, net of unaccreted purchase discount and deferred fees and costs, were $2.34 billion at September 30, 2026, compared to $2.27 billion at June 30, 2026, representing an increase of $65.6 million, or 2.9%. Loan growth was most notable in revolving commercial lines, especially in agriculture-related businesses sourced from our San Luis Obispo County team.

▪Taxable equivalent net interest margin, a non-GAAP measure, was 5.20% and 4.92% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. The quarter-over-quarter increase is largely attributed to the absence of the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter of 2026. Excluding the impact of sub debt redemption, the adjusted taxable equivalent net interest margin, a non-GAAP measure, was 5.19% for the second quarter of 2026. Please see “Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪The cost of funds was 1.31% and 1.59% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. The quarter-over-quarter decrease in the cost of funds is attributed to the absence of the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter. Excluding the impact of the sub debt redemption, the adjusted cost of funds, a non-GAAP measure, was approximately 1.29% for the second quarter of 2026. Please see “Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪The efficiency ratio, a non-GAAP measure, was 42.31% and 46.24% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. The decrease in the efficiency ratio for the third quarter of 2026 is largely attributed to the absence of $1.8 million in accelerated accretion associated with the sub debt redemption in the second quarter, as well as higher net interest income in the third quarter driven by growth in average interest-earning assets. Excluding the impact of the sub debt redemption, the adjusted efficiency ratio, a non-GAAP measure, was 42.31% and 43.91% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪Return on average assets (“ROAA”) was 2.21% and 1.69% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Excluding the benefit on the purchase of transferable renewable energy tax credits in the third quarter and the impact of accelerated accretion on the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter, adjusted ROAA, a non-GAAP measure, was 2.08% and 1.87% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪Return on average equity ("ROAE") was 16.44% and 12.32% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. ROAE was favorably impacted in the third quarter by the absence of accelerated accretion on the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter and the benefit on the purchase of transferable renewable energy tax credits. Excluding these items, adjusted ROAE, a non-GAAP measure, was 15.53% and 13.62% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪Return on average tangible equity (“ROATE”), a non-GAAP measure, was 20.20% and 15.47% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Excluding the benefit on the purchase of transferable renewable energy tax credits in the third quarter and accelerated accretion on the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter, adjusted ROATE, a non-GAAP measure, was 19.13% and 17.01% for the quarters ended September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

•Total provision for credit losses on loans and unfunded loan commitments was $7 thousand for the third quarter of 2026, compared to a provision for credit losses of $1.5 million for the second quarter. The quarter-over-quarter decrease is largely attributed to the full recovery of a previously substantially charged-off loan in the amount of $1.2 million, favorable changes in economic forecasts and qualitative factors used in the allowance for credit losses (“ACL”) model. These were partially offset by the impact
3

of loan growth and the change in the mix of loans during the quarter as well as an increase in the allowance for certain individually evaluated loans.

▪Total assets were $2.98 billion at September 30, 2026, compared to $2.95 billion at June 30, 2026, representing an increase of $38.4 million, or 1.3%, from June 30, 2026. The quarter-over-quarter increase in total assets is largely attributed to a $65.6 million increase in total loans.

▪Total deposits were $2.56 billion at September 30, 2026, compared to $2.52 billion at June 30, 2026, representing an increase of $32.5 million, or 1.3%, from June 30, 2026. The increase in deposits during the third quarter was largely driven by the establishment of new client relationships.

▪Bancorp’s regulatory capital ratios exceeded applicable minimum capital adequacy requirements, and the Bank continued to meet the regulatory capital thresholds necessary to be categorized as well capitalized under the prompt corrective action framework. Bancorp’s total risk-based capital ratio was 14.59% and 14.47% at September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. The tangible common equity ratio, a non-GAAP measure, was 11.69% and 11.67% at September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

▪Tangible book value per share, a non-GAAP measure, was $32.46 and $32.01 at September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively. Please also see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

•Primary liquidity ratio, defined as cash and cash equivalents, deposits held in other banks and unpledged available for sale (“AFS”) securities as a percentage of total assets, was 11.7% and 13.0% at September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively.

Net Interest Income and Net Interest Margin

Net interest income was $37.1 million for the third quarter of 2026, representing an increase of $4.0 million, or 12.0%, from $33.1 million for the second quarter of 2026. The quarter-over-quarter increase in net interest income is attributed to growth in average interest-earning assets during the third quarter and the absence of $1.8 million in accelerated accretion associated with the sub debt redemption that occurred in the second quarter. The increase in interest-earning assets is attributed to growth in loan balances during the quarter as well as higher average balances of investment securities and interest-earning cash. These increases were funded in part by higher average deposit balances during the quarter.

The taxable equivalent net interest margin, a non-GAAP measure, was 5.20% for the third quarter of 2026, compared to 4.92% for the second quarter, or 5.19%, on an adjusted basis when excluding the impact of the sub debt redemption, a non-GAAP measure. The modest quarter-over-quarter increase in the adjusted taxable equivalent net interest margin can be attributed to slightly higher overall yields on average interest-earning assets, including a seven-basis-point increase in the average yield on loans during the third quarter. This was partially offset by a slight increase in the adjusted cost of funds, a non-GAAP measure, during the third quarter that can be attributed to growth in money market deposits, coupled with slightly higher overall rates on deposits during the third quarter. The cost of funds for the third quarter of 2026 was 1.31%, compared to 1.59% for the second quarter, or 1.29% on an adjusted basis when excluding the impact of the sub debt redemption in the second quarter, a non-GAAP measure. Please see "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" below.

Noninterest Income

Noninterest income for the third quarter of 2026 was $1.3 million, compared to $1.2 million for the second quarter of 2026. The quarter-over-quarter increase is largely attributed to a $153 thousand special dividend that was received on our holdings of FHLB of San Francisco stock during the third quarter.

Noninterest Expense

Noninterest expense for the third quarter of 2026 was $16.3 million, compared to $15.9 million for the second quarter of 2026. The quarter-over-quarter increase is largely attributed to increases in data and item processing costs, professional fees and various other miscellaneous expenses, partially offset by a decrease in salaries and employee benefits. The increase in data and item processing costs during the third quarter is primarily associated with the absence of one-time credits received from our core system processor that were utilized in the second quarter. The increase in professional fees can be attributed to expenses incurred related to Bancorp becoming an SEC registrant and a Nasdaq-listed company in the third quarter, as well as various other expenses associated with regular third-party credit reviews and other consulting fees. The decline in salaries and employee benefits during the quarter was primarily associated with the absence of expense associated with annual director stock grants that occurred in the second
6

quarter, as well as increased compensation deferrals attributed to successful loan originations during the third quarter.

Investment Portfolio
Securities issued by U.S. government-sponsored agencies, U.S. Treasury bonds and Small Business Administration ("SBA") securities accounted for 52%, 26% and 1%, respectively, of the investment portfolio as of September 30, 2026. These securities carry explicit or implicit credit guarantees from the U.S. government and thus present minimal credit or liquidity risk. Municipal bonds, corporate bonds and private-label collateralized mortgage obligations/asset-backed instruments represent 17%, 2% and 2% of the carrying value of the portfolio, respectively, as of September 30, 2026.
The investment portfolio totaled $377.9 million at September 30, 2026, compared to $388.1 million at June 30, 2026. The decrease in the investment portfolio from June 30, 2026, was primarily due to an increase in unrealized losses on AFS securities of $14.8 million, stemming from a rise in intermediate-term interest rates during the period, and maturities, paydowns and sales during the third quarter totaling $16.0 million, partially offset by purchases of U.S. Treasury securities, totaling $19.9 million. The investment portfolio had an effective duration of 3.8 years as of September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
Net unrealized losses on AFS securities were $23.8 million, or $16.8 million after-tax, at September 30, 2026, compared to $9.0 million, or $6.3 million after-tax, at June 30, 2026.
Loans and Asset Quality
Total loans, net of unaccreted purchase discount and deferred fees and costs, increased $65.6 million, or 2.9%, from June 30, 2026. Loan growth during the third quarter of 2026 was largely attributed to increases in revolving commercial lines, which grew by $66.4 million during the quarter. This increase was primarily attributed to agriculture-related lending by the Bank's San Luis Obispo County team. New loan commitments originated during the third quarter were $199.1 million, driven by $86.8 million in new commercial and industrial (“C&I”) commitments and $57.9 million in new commercial real estate (“CRE”) loan commitments.

Nonaccrual loans of $11.9 million accounted for 0.51% of total loans at September 30, 2026, compared to $11.4 million, or 0.50%, of total loans at June 30, 2026. At September 30, 2026, nonaccrual loans included a $5.8 million hotel relationship, consisting of two loans, of which one has an SBA guarantee of approximately $3.7 million. Other nonaccrual loans at September 30, 2026, consisted primarily of SBA-related credits totaling $4.7 million that contained SBA guarantees of approximately $4.0 million, and two CRE loans totaling approximately $1.4 million. At September 30, 2026, government guarantees of $7.8 million reduced net credit exposure on nonaccrual loans to approximately $4.1 million.

Accruing loans past due 30-89 days totaled $2.3 million at September 30, 2026, an increase from $1.2 million at June 30, 2026. The balance of accruing loans past due 30-89 days primarily reflects a $1.9 million substandard CRE loan that is secured by a mixed-use property. There were no loans more than 90 days past due still accruing as of September 30, 2026, or June 30, 2026.

The ACL on loans was $36.6 million at September 30, 2026, or 1.57%, of total loans, compared to $35.1 million at June 30, 2026, or 1.55%, of total loans. The increase in the ACL during the third quarter is attributed to several factors including organic loan growth and changes in portfolio mix which increased the ACL by approximately $1.5 million, and a $1.2 million increase in the ACL for certain individually evaluated loans. These increases were partially offset by lower pooled reserve rates reflecting improvements in the economic forecast as well as improvements in certain qualitative factors used in the ACL model. The provision for credit losses on loans was $275 thousand for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $1.4 million in the second quarter of 2026. The quarter-over-quarter decrease in the provision is largely attributed to the factors just discussed in addition to the full recovery, upon payoff, of a previously substantially charged-off loan in the amount of $1.2 million that occurred in the third quarter.

7

The Bank recorded net recoveries for the third quarter of 2026 of $1.2 million. Net recoveries for the quarter were largely attributed to the full recovery previously discussed.

The ACL for unfunded commitments, recorded in other liabilities, was $2.6 million, or 0.38% of unfunded credit commitments at September 30, 2026, compared to $2.9 million, or 0.42%, at June 30, 2026. The decrease in the ACL for unfunded commitments reflected, in part, higher utilization of commercial lines, which reduced unfunded commitments, and lower reserve rates consistent with improvements in the qualitative factors used to determine the ACL for funded loans. Total unfunded commitments decreased by approximately $6.3 million during the third quarter to $675.0 million as of September 30, 2026.

Deposits
Deposits totaled $2.6 billion at September 30, 2026, an increase of $32.5 million, or 1.3%, compared to June 30, 2026. The increase in deposits during the third quarter of 2026 was driven by the establishment of a few large new-client relationships that brought in money market deposits during the quarter, as well as seasonal deposit inflows. Noninterest-bearing deposits to total deposits was 39.0% and 39.7% at September 30, 2026, and June 30, 2026, respectively.

8

The 10 largest deposit relationships, excluding fully collateralized government agency deposits, represent approximately 15.0% of total deposits as of September 30, 2026. The Bank generally aggregates related depositors with entities and individuals that have the same deposit account signers as one deposit relationship.

The quarter-over-quarter change in tangible common equity is largely attributed to net income of $16.7 million, activity related to stock-based compensation and the amortization of core deposit intangibles, together totaling $1.5 million, partially offset by an increase in accumulated other comprehensive loss of $10.5 million due to higher unrealized losses on AFS investment securities during the quarter, and dividends declared of

Non-GAAP Financial Measures
In addition to presenting the Company’s results of operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) in the United States of America, certain financial measures discussed herein are non-GAAP financial measures, examples of which include taxable equivalent net interest income, efficiency ratio, tangible common equity ratio and return on average tangible equity. Generally, a non-GAAP measure is a numerical measure of a company’s financial performance, financial position or cash flows that exclude (or include) amounts that are included in (or excluded from) the most directly comparable measure calculated and presented in accordance with GAAP. We believe that the non-GAAP financial measures used herein provide helpful additional information about our operating results, performance trends and financial condition. Non-GAAP measures should not be considered a substitute for GAAP results and may not be comparable to similar measures used by other banking companies, among other limitations. Other companies may use the same or similar names for non-GAAP measures but may calculate them differently. As a result, caution should be used when comparing the Company's non-GAAP measures with those of other companies.

Investors are encouraged to review the reconciliation of non-GAAP financial measures used herein to their most directly comparable GAAP financial measures, which are presented in the tables below.

13

The following tables present non-GAAP financial measures management believes provide useful information for understanding the operating results of our core business and a better comparison of financial performance. Such measures include taxable equivalent adjustments, adjustments related to the sub debt redemption in the second quarter of 2026, adjustments related to the income tax benefit from the investment in renewable energy tax credits in the third quarter of 2026, tangible common equity and the associated financial measures.
