Amazon (AMZN) Uber Eats Deal Replaces Prime's Free Grubhub+ With Free Delivery on Orders of $25 or More
Amazon ended the free Grubhub+ membership for Prime members on November 5, 2026, the same morning it launched a $0 Uber Eats delivery fee for them. Free delivery now needs a restaurant order of $25 or more on Amazon, more than twice the $12 Amazon last listed for Grubhub+, in May 2024.
The short answer. Amazon (AMZN) swapped Prime's food delivery partner from Grubhub to Uber (UBER). The new perk waives only the delivery fee, on restaurant orders of $25 or more. An order over $12 but under $25 met the Grubhub+ bar for free delivery. It falls short of the new minimum. Amazon told GeekWire that service fees still apply. Next to a paid Uber One membership at $9.99 a month, the free perk leaves out groceries and the reduced service fees Uber One lists.

What the Amazon Uber Eats deal gives Prime members
Prime members in the US pay no delivery fee on Uber Eats restaurant orders of $25 or more, as long as they order on Amazon. Prime members also get $20 off each of their first two orders.
The joint release came out at 6:00 a.m. ET on Thursday. It describes a $0 delivery fee on restaurant orders of $25 or more, placed on Amazon.com or in the Amazon Shopping app. You log in with your Amazon account and pay with the card already saved there. No Uber app or Uber account is needed.
Every Prime member qualifies, including the half-price plans, Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access. A member can also share the waived fee with one other adult in the home through Amazon Family. To start, Amazon points members to amazon.com/ubereats, or to a search for "Uber Eats" in its app.
There are two launch offers. Members get $20 off each of the first two orders of $25 or more, used within 14 days. Prime Visa cardholders earn 5% back on Uber Eats orders through December 5, 2026.
Amazon says the delivery fee waiver and its member-only offers can save "more than $175 per year," which it notes is more than the $139 a year Prime costs. The fine print says that estimate uses the typical number of yearly orders from August 2026 data. It compares ordering on Amazon with ordering straight from Uber Eats without an Uber One membership, and says savings per order vary.
The waiver covers only the delivery fee. Amazon told GeekWire that service fees still apply. The release says nothing about a small order fee. The perk also covers restaurants, not groceries. For groceries, the release points to Amazon Grocery's free same-day delivery on perishable grocery orders over $25. StockTitan's Thanksgiving meal deals comparison also covered that grocery offer.
Is Grubhub still free with Prime?
No. Amazon says the free Grubhub+ membership for Prime members ended on November 5, 2026, the day Uber Eats arrived.
Amazon's Grubhub page now carries a short notice. It says that as of November 5, 2026, "the Grubhub+ restaurant delivery benefit is no longer active on Prime," and that members do not need to do anything. The Associated Press reported at 6:03 a.m. ET the same day that Amazon said the Grubhub offer would wind down as the Uber Eats deal started.
The joint release with Uber does not mention Grubhub at all. For help with a Grubhub account or a past Grubhub order, Amazon's page sends members to Grubhub support.
The Grubhub perk was richer on paper. Amazon made it an ongoing Prime benefit in a May 2024 release. That release listed free delivery on eligible orders over $12, lower service fees and cash back on pickup orders. Amazon valued that membership at $120 a year.
The new Uber Eats perk asks for a $25 order and leaves the service fee in place.
Say you order a $15 lunch for one. Under Grubhub+ with Prime, that order cleared the $12 bar for a $0 delivery fee. Through Amazon's Uber Eats perk, the same $15 order falls $10 short of the $25 needed for the delivery fee waiver.
Amazon Prime Uber Eats or Uber One
The Prime perk costs nothing extra but only waives the delivery fee on bigger restaurant orders. Uber One costs $9.99 a month and also cuts service fees and covers groceries.
| Uber Eats through Prime | Uber One | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Included in Prime ($139 a year) | $9.99 a month ($119.88 a year) |
| $0 delivery fee | Restaurant orders of $25 or more | Orders over each store's minimum |
| Service fee | No cut named | Reduced |
| Groceries and other stores | Not covered | Covered |
| Other perks | $20 off two orders in the first 14 days | Up to 10% off orders, 5% back on rides |
Uber's Uber One page lists the paid membership at $9.99 a month, or $119.88 over a year at that price. For that, it promises a $0 delivery fee on orders over each store's minimum, reduced service fees and up to 10% off orders. It also covers grocery and other stores, and gives credits back on rides.
So the two answer different needs. Someone who orders a big dinner a few times a month on Amazon gets the fee waiver at no added cost. Uber One also includes reduced service fees, grocery orders and ride credits, which the Prime perk does not.
For people who already pay for Uber One, Amazon told GeekWire that the two memberships work separately. Uber One members keep their Uber One perks. The Prime perk applies only to Uber Eats orders placed on Amazon. Neither the release nor that statement says whether Uber One savings also count on an order placed on Amazon.
Where the Amazon Uber Eats deal works
The release says the perk reaches nearly ten thousand US cities and towns, from big cities to rural places, far more places than Grubhub listed.
The companies name big cities such as Boston, Atlanta and Los Angeles, suburbs such as Oak Park, Illinois, and small towns such as Boardman, Oregon, and Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. They count hundreds of thousands of restaurants, from Wingstop, Chipotle and Sweetgreen to local spots. The release gives no full list of towns.
One difference is reach. In May 2024, Amazon described Grubhub as covering over 4,000 US cities. The November 2026 release counts nearly 10,000 cities and towns, about two and a half times as many.
Amazon Prime and Grubhub before Uber Eats
Prime's free Grubhub+ began as a one-year trial in 2022. Amazon made it an ongoing Prime benefit in 2024 and ended it on November 5, 2026, when Uber Eats arrived.
Show the data
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| Jul 2022 | US: Prime members get a free one-year Grubhub+ trial |
| May 2024 | US: Grubhub+ becomes free for as long as you keep Prime |
| Nov 5, 2026 | US: the Grubhub+ benefit ends and the $0 Uber Eats delivery fee starts |
Amazon first added Grubhub+ in July 2022 as a free year, worth $9.99 a month, with free delivery on orders over $12. The ongoing version of May 2024 lasted about two and a half years.
Amazon has also tied Prime to another delivery app outside the US. DoorDash's help page lists free DashPass, DoorDash's delivery membership, for Amazon.ca Prime members in Canada.
After the swap, Prime's restaurant delivery perk needs a bigger order and works only through Amazon. For Amazon's wider business, see StockTitan's Amazon third quarter results article and the Amazon financials page.
What to watch
- The Prime Visa 5% back on Uber Eats orders ends December 5, 2026, under the release; Amazon's Prime Visa offer terms will show any extension.
- Whether Uber Eats orders placed on Amazon carry a small order fee, which neither the release nor Amazon's statement addresses: Amazon's Uber Eats terms at amazon.com/ubereats.
Our numbers
We worked out these figures from the sources linked above. The Grubhub+ order bar is the $12 Amazon last published, in May 2024.
- More than twice the order: the new $25 bar divided by the $12 Grubhub+ bar, about 2.1 times, or $13 more.
- $119.88 a year for Uber One: its $9.99 monthly price times 12.
- About two and a half times as many places: nearly 10,000 cities and towns for Uber Eats in November 2026. Amazon gave over 4,000 cities for Grubhub in May 2024. The Uber count also includes towns, so the two may not count places the same way.
- About two and a half years for the ongoing Grubhub+ offer: from May 30, 2024, to November 5, 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Does Amazon Prime include Uber Eats?
Partly, from November 5, 2026. US Prime members pay a $0 delivery fee on Uber Eats restaurant orders of $25 or more placed on Amazon.com or in the Amazon Shopping app. The perk waives the delivery fee only, and it comes with no Uber One membership.
Does Amazon Prime still include Grubhub+?
No. Amazon's Grubhub page says the Grubhub+ benefit is no longer active on Prime as of November 5, 2026, and members do not need to take any action. For a Grubhub account or a past order, Amazon points members to Grubhub support.
Is there an Amazon Prime Uber Eats promo code?
The release names no code. Prime members get $20 off each of their first two Uber Eats orders of $25 or more placed on Amazon within 14 days. Prime Visa cardholders also earn 5% back through December 5, 2026.
Do Uber Eats orders on Amazon still have a service fee?
Yes. Amazon told GeekWire that service fees still apply, since the perk waives only the delivery fee. The release does not mention small order fees. Uber One, by contrast, lists reduced service fees among its perks.
Can I use Uber One with the Amazon Uber Eats perk?
Amazon told GeekWire that the two memberships work separately. Uber One members keep their Uber One perks, and the Prime perk applies only to Uber Eats orders placed on Amazon.
Does Amazon Prime include DashPass?
DoorDash's help page lists a free DashPass offer only for Amazon.ca Prime members in Canada, and none for the US.
