Lyft Go Is Free for DashPass Members and Pays 8% Back on Lyft (LYFT) Rides

A paper takeout bag handed through the open window of a car on a city street

Lyft Go, which Lyft (LYFT) launched on November 5, 2026, pays 8% back on rides and includes DoorDash's DashPass for $9.99 a month. DashPass members get it at no extra cost, and Lyft's rewards page, though not its release, caps those credits at $40 a month.

The short answer. Lyft and DoorDash have combined their two memberships, so one fee now buys free DoorDash delivery and Lyft ride credits that can also pay for DoorDash orders. For anyone weighing ride and delivery plans, it costs the same as Uber One and pays more back on rides than the 5% on Uber's US page. Counting ride credits only, Lyft Go covers its fee at about $125 of fares a month, against $199.80 for Uber One.

What is Lyft Go?

Lyft Go is Lyft's new paid membership, in two sizes. The full $9.99 plan includes DashPass and gives part of each ride's fare back as credits, and a cheaper Core plan covers rides only.

Lyft announced the plan at 8:00 a.m. ET on Thursday in a release with DoorDash, two hours after Amazon and Uber put Uber Eats delivery into Prime. The top tier, Lyft Go with DashPass, costs $9.99 a month or $96 a year. Its credits can be spent on Lyft rides, from Wait & Save up to Lyft Black, or on DoorDash orders.

People who already pay for DashPass get Lyft Go at no extra cost once they link their DoorDash and Lyft accounts and turn the benefit on. Both tiers start with a one-month free trial in the Lyft app.

The plan also gives three "relaxed cancellations" a month, which Lyft pitches as wiggle room when plans change, and waives the fee for returning a lost item. Lyft matches what members give through its Round Up & Donate feature.

The cheaper tier, Lyft Go Core, costs $4.99 a month. It gives 5% back in credits that work on Lyft rides only, with no DashPass. A Core member can move up to the full plan at any time, according to the Lyft Go terms.

The credits come with rules the release does not spell out. They are earned on the base fare only, so taxes, tolls, tips and fees earn nothing. They are not applied on their own; a member picks them at checkout. And they expire 60 days after they are issued.

One change reaches every rider, member or not. On select trips, the Lyft app now shows nearby DoorDash restaurants, so a rider can start a dinner order before the ride ends.

Does Lyft Go include DashPass?

Yes, and the deal works in both directions. Buying the $9.99 Lyft Go plan gets DashPass included, and anyone already paying for DashPass can claim Lyft Go at no extra cost.

DoorDash's own DashPass x Lyft terms say a member needs to "subscribe to one membership with either Lyft or DoorDash" to get the other at no additional charge. The same page lists DashPass at $9.99 a month. So the bundle costs exactly what DashPass alone costs.

Existing DashPass members pay no extra membership fee for Lyft Go, and Lyft values the DashPass side at $120 a year in its release. Linking the accounts alone does not switch the benefit on, even for accounts linked before.

  • An active DashPass The free Lyft Go lasts only while the DashPass membership is active.
  • Linked accounts The DoorDash and Lyft accounts are connected at doordash.com/lyft.
  • The benefit turned on It is activated and confirmed in the Lyft app, even for accounts linked before.
  • Credits picked at checkout Lyft Credits are not applied on their own and expire 60 days after they are earned.
What a DashPass member needs for Lyft Go at no extra cost Linking the accounts is not enough, the benefit has to be turned on, and credits are spent by hand within 60 days. Lyft Go replaces the earlier DashPass ride discounts. Since October 2024, DashPass members who linked a Lyft account got 5% off on-demand rides and 10% off airport rides booked ahead, on at most four rides a month, according to the 2024 partnership release.

Those discounts end at 11:59 p.m. PT on November 11, 2026, or sooner once a member turns on Lyft Go, under DoorDash's terms. Airport rides booked ahead did better under the old perk, at 10% off against 8% back now.

Take four on-demand Lyft rides with a $25 base fare each. The old DashPass discount took $5 off. Lyft Go pays $8 in credits for the same rides. A fifth ride earns credits too, while the old perk stopped after four.

Lyft Go vs Uber One

The two cost the same. Lyft gives 8% back on rides and Uber gives 5%, until Lyft hits its monthly limit.

Both plans cost $9.99 a month or $96 a year, going by Lyft's release and an Uber help page.

Uber's Uber One page for US riders, which carries the plan's fine print, lists "5% Uber One credits back on rides". The help page gives 6% instead. Lyft's 8% is higher than either figure.

Both plans waive delivery fees on qualifying orders and cut service fees. Uber One adds up to 10% off eligible orders, and its membership terms let an eligible paying member share its core benefits with one other adult. Uber One credits also expire 60 days after they land.

The difference is the ceiling. Lyft stops paying credits at $40 a month, which a rider reaches at $500 of base fares. Uber's US pages name no monthly limit, and at 5% a rider would need $800 of fares in a month to earn as much from Uber.

Lyft Go, Uber One and Prime's Uber Eats perk compared Lyft Go with DashPass and Uber One cost the same, and Lyft pays more back on rides, while Prime's new perk covers food only. Is Lyft Go worth it for riders?

On ride credits alone, Lyft Go pays for itself once a month's base fares reach about $125. Uber One needs $199.80 of fares to do the same.

At 8%, about $125 of base fares earns the $9.99 fee back in credits.

The yearly plan lowers the bar to $100 of fares a month, since $96 a year works out to $8 a month. Lyft Go Core's smaller fee is covered at just under $100 of fares too.

Free delivery on DoorDash comes on top of the credits for Lyft Go's members, as it does on Uber Eats for Uber One's. For someone who orders food often, that side can be worth more than the ride credits.

A commuter who spends $200 a month on Lyft base fares would earn $16 in Lyft Go credits. The same $200 on Uber would earn $10 at Uber One's 5%.

What happens to Lyft Pink?

Lyft Pink members are moved to Lyft Go with DashPass at the price they pay now, Lyft says. Lyft Pink All Access, the pricier plan, does not change.

Lyft says in its release that Pink members will be told in advance before the switch. They start getting Lyft Go's benefits at their current price and can turn on DashPass in the app. Anyone who does not want the new plan can cancel in the app before the renewal date.

Some Pink members also pay DoorDash for DashPass, and the move does not cancel that separate DashPass charge. For that case, DoorDash's terms describe canceling the paid Lyft Go plan through Lyft and then claiming the free one at doordash.com/lyft.

Lyft Go and Amazon Prime's Uber Eats perk

Amazon went the other way the same morning. Prime now waives the delivery fee on Uber Eats restaurant orders of $25 or more placed on Amazon, and it gives no ride credits.

Amazon and Uber announced the perk at 6:00 a.m. ET in a joint release. Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. The same day, Amazon's Grubhub page said the free Grubhub+ benefit had ended for Prime members.

Amazon told GeekWire on November 5 that service fees still apply on these orders. It also said Prime and Uber One operate independently, and the Prime perk works only for Uber Eats orders placed through Amazon. Uber One members keep their own benefits, GeekWire reported. StockTitan's guide to the Prime Uber Eats deal covers it in full.

So Uber's food delivery now sits inside Prime, while Lyft and DoorDash share one membership, a link they first built in October 2024.

Who comes out ahead depends on what a household already pays for. A DashPass member who rides Lyft gains ride credits for no new fee. A Prime member who orders Uber Eats through Amazon gains free delivery on orders of $25 or more without a second plan.

What to watch

  • The end of the old DashPass ride discounts for linked accounts: 11:59 p.m. PT on November 11, 2026, or sooner once a member turns on Lyft Go, under DoorDash's DashPass x Lyft terms.
  • Whether Lyft reports how many people join Lyft Go: Lyft's third quarter 2026 results release, which Lyft set for after the close on November 5.

Our numbers

These figures are our calculations from the sources linked in this article. They count ride credits only, on each company's own fare basis, and assume every credit is spent.

  • About $125 ($124.88) of monthly base fares before Lyft Go's credits equal its fee: $9.99 divided by 8%.
  • $100 of monthly base fares on the yearly plan: $96 over 12 months, divided by 8%.
  • $99.80 for Lyft Go Core: $4.99 divided by 5%.
  • $199.80 for Uber One: $9.99 divided by the 5% on Uber's US page, or $166.50 at the 6% on Uber's help page.
  • $500 of monthly base fares to reach Lyft's $40 limit: $40 divided by 8%.
  • $800 of monthly fares for Uber One's 5% to earn $40: $40 divided by 5%.
  • $16 against $10 on $200 of monthly fares: 8% and 5% of $200.
  • $8 against $5 on four $25 on-demand rides: 8% back under Lyft Go and 5% off under the old DashPass perk.
