ManpowerGroup Reports 3rd Quarter 2026 Results

Lower selling and administrative expenses accompanied higher operating profit, despite a small quarterly gross-profit decline.

Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

constant currency, sg&a, hyperinflationary
3 terms
constant currency financial
"increase of 24% in constant currency in the third quarter of 2026"
Constant currency is a way of measuring financial results that removes the effects of changes in currency exchange rates. It allows for a clearer comparison of a company's performance over time by showing what the numbers would look like if exchange rates had stayed the same. This helps investors understand whether growth comes from actual business improvements or just currency fluctuations.
sg&a financial
"SG&A improved trend reflects continued cost actions"
SG&A stands for Selling, General, and Administrative expenses. It includes the costs a company spends on selling products, running the business day-to-day, and managing staff, like advertising, rent, and salaries. These expenses matter because they affect how much profit a company can make from its sales.
hyperinflationary financial
"Argentina hyperinflationary related non-cash currency translation losses"
An economy described as hyperinflationary is one where prices and the cost of goods and services are rising extremely fast and unpredictably, eroding the value of the local currency like water rapidly leaking from a bucket. For investors it matters because hyperinflation can wipe out real returns, distort company revenues and expenses, force large currency or accounting adjustments, and make planning and valuing assets much more uncertain.

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) today reported net earnings of $0.71 per diluted share for the three months ended September 30, 2026 compared to net earnings of $0.38 per diluted share in the prior year period. Net earnings in the quarter were $34.1 million compared to net earnings of $18.0 million a year earlier. Revenues for the third quarter were $4.8 billion, a 4% increase from the prior year period.

The current year quarter included restructuring costs, strategic transformation program costs, a business sale adjustment, and Argentina hyperinflationary related non-cash currency translation losses, which negatively impacted earnings per share by $0.30 in the third quarter. Excluding these items, earnings per share was $1.01 per diluted share in the quarter representing an increase of 24% in constant currency in the third quarter of 2026.1

Financial results in the quarter were also impacted by the U.S. dollar relative to foreign currencies compared to the prior year period. On a constant currency basis, revenues increased 5% compared to the prior year period.

Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup Chair & CEO, said, "We delivered another quarter of consistent performance and strong execution as momentum continues across the organization. Our Manpower brand continues to lead the way, with notable share gains in the U.S. Our Experis and Talent Solutions brands experienced sequential revenue trend improvement which is encouraging. Our performance to date reinforces our confidence that 2026 is an inflection point for the business. At the same time, we continue to advance our transformation, expanding implementation beyond the U.S. and driving growth across our brands and regions while remaining on track to deliver on our cost savings target. Looking ahead, the combination of improving demand, strong execution, and continued progress on our transformation positions ManpowerGroup to drive sustainable, profitable growth."

We anticipate diluted earnings per share in the fourth quarter will be between $1.03 and $1.13 and a 44% effective tax rate."

Net earnings for the nine months ended September 30, 2026 were $90.1 million, or net earnings of $1.89 per diluted share compared to net losses of $43.5 million, or net losses of $0.93 per diluted share in the prior year, respectively. The current year-to-date period included restructuring costs, strategic transformation program costs, the sale of our Jefferson Wells U.S. business, a discontinued business liquidation charge, and Argentina hyperinflationary related non-cash currency translation losses which, in aggregate, reduced earnings per share by $0.62. Excluding the net impact of these charges, earnings per share for the nine-month period was $2.51 per diluted share representing an increase of 21%2 in constant currency. Revenues for the nine-month period were $14.2 billion, representing an increase of 7% compared to the prior year or 5% in constant currency.
