Of GAP's four largest airports, Tijuana led with 3.4% growth, buoyed by a 7.9% increase in international passengers and 7.5% growth in Cross Border Xpress users. Meanwhile, Guadalajara (+0.3%), Los Cabos (+0.9%), and Puerto Vallarta (+1.1%) posted more modest gains.
The available seat capacity increased 4.8% compared to May 2024, outpacing passenger growth and resulting in load factors declining from 82.8% to 81.1%. This 1.7 percentage point decrease indicates slightly less efficient capacity utilization, potentially impacting revenue per flight.
Year-to-date figures show stronger momentum with total traffic up 4.9% across the first five months of 2025, including an 8.8% increase in domestic passengers. The company's launch of seven new routes operated by Viva, primarily connecting Tijuana with other Mexican destinations, demonstrates GAP's continued network expansion despite variable traffic growth rates.
