Andrew Pon and Macalla Rogers join as research analysts

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co., an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners, Inc., today announced that Andrew Pon, CFA, and Macalla Rogers have joined the firm’s Global Listed Infrastructure team as research analysts.

Pon will serve as a director and research analyst focused on the utilities sector and Rogers, a junior research analyst, will support the transportation and midstream energy sectors.

Duff & Phelps’ global listed infrastructure strategies invest in companies that are essential to the economy, such as communications, utilities, transportation, and energy. The strategies are available in the Virtus Duff & Phelps Global Infrastructure Fund (I Shares: PGIUX), Virtus Duff & Phelps Select MLP and Energy Fund (I Shares: VLPIX), CIT, and institutional separate accounts.

“We are pleased to have Andrew and Macalla join the Global Listed Infrastructure team,” said Steven Wittwer, executive managing director and head of infrastructure. “Andrew and Macalla have extensive industry experience, which will be a significant asset in further strengthening our infrastructure team to enhance client outcomes. By investing in essential services companies that have historically performed well regardless of economic conditions, a listed infrastructure strategy can be an essential part of a well-diversified portfolio.”

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Pon, who started in the investment industry in 2013, was a merger and acquisitions associate at Foundry Brands and an equity research analyst at Causeway Capital Management, where he conducted fundamental research within the utilities, renewable energy, and LNG sectors. He has also held equity and research positions at J.P. Morgan and UBS. Pon holds a B.S. in economics with concentrations in finance and management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Rogers, who began her investment industry career in 2016, previously served as an equity research associate at Stifel Financial Corp., where she covered maritime shipping, energy infrastructure, and railroad stocks. She also served as a product management and development associate at BMO Global Asset Management and an internal advisor consultant with Nuveen. Rogers holds an M.S. in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in economics from Florida State University. Important Risk Considerations

Equity Securities: The market price of equity securities may be adversely affected by financial market, industry, or issuer-specific events. Focus on a particular style or on small, medium, or large-sized companies may enhance that risk. Foreign Investing: Investing in foreign securities subjects the portfolio to additional risks such as increased volatility; currency fluctuations; less liquidity; less publicly available information about the foreign investment; and political, regulatory, economic, and market risk. Market Volatility: The value of the securities in the portfolio may go up or down in response to the prospects of individual companies and/or general economic conditions. Local, regional, or global events such as war, terrorism, pandemic, or recession could impact the portfolio, including hampering the ability of the portfolio's manager(s) to invest its assets as intended. Industry/Sector Concentration: A portfolio that focuses its investments in a particular industry or sector will be more sensitive to conditions that affect that industry or sector than a non-concentrated portfolio. Income: Income received from the portfolio may vary widely over the short- and long-term and/or be less than anticipated if the proceeds from maturing securities in the portfolio are reinvested in lower-yielding securities.
