Largest Companies by Market Cap - January 2026

The largest US-listed companies by market capitalization as the market stood at the close of January 2026. This ranking is frozen at that date and does not move with today's prices.
How these values were calculated
Reconstructed, not recorded
The share counts in force at the close of January 2026 were not recorded at the time. Each value marked est. is that month's closing price multiplied by the share count on record today, so a buyback or an issuance since then moves it. The closing prices are exact; the share counts are today's.
What that changes
Ranks near each other can swap, and a company whose share count changed sharply since January 2026 carries the largest error. Months recorded while their inputs were current carry no marker.

Market caps are the share price multiplied by shares outstanding, and a company trading under several share classes appears once. This ranking is informational and is not investment advice.

Intuit Inc (INTU) was the biggest faller, dropping 40 places from rank 67 to rank 107. Applovin Corporation (APP) fell 39 places, from rank 49 to rank 88.

Software showed a 4-company downward group: INTU, SERVICENOW, INC. (NOW), Salesforce, Inc. (CRM) and Shopify Inc. (SHOP) all fell. Qualcomm Inc (QCOM) and Sony Group Corporation American (SONY) each fell 19 places. HDFC Bank Limited (HDB) slipped 18 places, from rank 65 to rank 83.

Southern Copper Corporation (SCCO) was the biggest climber, rising 32 places from rank 121 to rank 89. Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) climbed 30 places, from rank 128 to rank 98. Semiconductors supplied a 4-company upward group: Texas Instruments Incorporated (TXN), Intel Corp (INTC), Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) and Applied Materials Inc (AMAT) all climbed. KLA Corporation (KLAC) and Lam Research Corp (LRCX) also climbed.

Inside the top 10, Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) overtook Apple Inc. (AAPL). Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) moved ahead of Tesla, Inc. (TSLA). Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSM) moved ahead of both TSLA and Broadcom Inc. (AVGO).

Marsh (MRSH) joined the ranking at rank 164. Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) departed from rank 158. Telefonica, S.A. (TEF) also departed, from rank 525. The rankings for 2026-01-01 and 2025-12-01 were both reconstructed.

Compares this month's close with the previous month's close. A company that shifted only because another entered or left the ranking above it is not counted as having moved.

About this ranking

This page ranks 942 US-listed companies by the market capitalization each one carried at the close of January 2026. The values do not change, because January 2026 is over; this is what the ranking looked like then, and it will look the same the next time you visit.

Market capitalization is the share price multiplied by the number of shares outstanding. Each figure on this page uses that month's closing share price, so the ranking reflects the market as it stood at the close of January 2026 rather than today. Rank Change compares each company's position with its position at the end of the previous month. A company whose position shifted only because another company entered or left the ranking above it shows no change, because it did not move.

This month was reconstructed: the closing prices are the ones recorded for January 2026, but the share counts are today's, so every value marked est. carries the share-count drift since then.

For the ranking at today's prices, see the live market cap ranking.
