Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Atlanta Braves Holdings, Inc. (BATRA) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $324.6 million, up 4%, while Adjusted OIBDA was $40.6 million, down 40%. Operating income fell 78% to $8.7 million; net earnings attributable to stockholders were $9.8 million versus $30.0 million a year earlier.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

Third-quarter cash increased while debt rose, with league-wide facility borrowing supporting working capital.

The quarterly-results release reports that Series C shares outstanding rose from 51,828,348 at December 31, 2025 to 53,203,078 at September 30, 2026; the higher share count reduces existing holders’ percentage ownership, absent offsetting changes.

During the third quarter, ABH cash increased $5 million, primarily from a release of restricted cash, net borrowings, stock-option proceeds and affiliate distributions.

Debt increased $20 million, primarily from net borrowing on the league-wide credit facility to support working capital, partly offset by net payments on the TeamCo revolver.

Adjusted OIBDA financial
"Adjusted OIBDA is a non-GAAP financial measure"
Adjusted OIBDA is a company’s core operating profit before subtracting depreciation and amortization, further cleaned up by removing one-time or unusual items so it shows recurring cash-earning power. Think of it like measuring a car’s steady fuel efficiency after ignoring a flat tire or a rare detour—investors use it to compare underlying operational performance across periods and companies without distortion from non-recurring events or accounting timing.
equity method investments financial
"returns on equity method investments"
An equity method investment is an accounting approach used when a company owns a significant share of another company and can influence its decisions but does not fully control it; instead of listing the investment at cost, the investor records its share of the other company's profits or losses on its own income statement and adjusts the investment value on the balance sheet. For investors, this matters because it links the investor’s reported earnings and asset values directly to the financial performance of that partly-owned business, similar to how a partner’s gains affect a small business owner’s books.
deferred financing costs financial
"Deferred financing costs"
Deferred financing costs are the up‑front fees and charges a company pays to secure a loan or issue bonds—like legal, underwriting and arrangement fees—that are recorded on the balance sheet and spread out as an expense over the life of the debt. For investors, they matter because they affect reported interest expense, the carrying value of debt and certain financial ratios, so understanding them helps reveal the true cost and timing of a company’s borrowing, much like spreading a one‑time travel booking fee across the whole trip.
restricted cash financial
"release of restricted cash"
Cash that a company holds but cannot use for day-to-day operations because it is set aside for a specific purpose—such as meeting loan covenants, serving as collateral, funding an escrow, or complying with regulations. Like money in a locked savings account earmarked for a bill, restricted cash reduces the cash available to run the business and pay dividends or debts, so investors treat it differently when assessing a company’s true short-term financial strength.

Adjusted OIBDA $40.6 million Down 40% from 2025

There were 44 home games (including postseason) played in the third quarter of 2026 compared to 41 in the prior year period.

2

Baseball revenue increased 4% in the third quarter of 2026 compared to the prior year primarily driven by increases in baseball event revenue and retail and licensing revenue. Baseball event revenue increased due to contractual rate increases on season tickets, increased attendance at regular season home games, favorable single-game ticket sales, and increases in regular and postseason home games. Retail and licensing revenue increased compared to the prior year due to demand for City Connect apparel following its April 2026 launch, higher league-wide revenue, increased attendance at regular season home games and the impact of two postseason home games. Media related revenue declined due to the timing of revenue recognition under BravesVision linear distribution agreements compared to our previous long-term local broadcasting arrangement, as well as changes in certain national media rights arrangements, including the increased commercialization of digital media rights through MLB Advanced Media, L.P. (“MLBAM”). Other revenue decreased due to fewer special events held at Truist Park.

Mixed-Use Development revenue increased 7% for the third quarter of 2026 primarily due to an increase in rental income driven by increases in tenant recoveries and new lease agreements.

Operating income (loss) and Adjusted OIBDA(1) decreased in the third quarter of 2026 compared to the prior year primarily due to increases in operating costs and selling, general, and administrative expenses. Baseball operating costs increased primarily due to increases in major league player salaries, expenses associated with the production of BravesVision, variable concessions and retail operating expenses and postseason game operating costs. Selling, general and administrative expenses increased due to increases in sales, marketing and administrative costs associated with BravesVision, additional marketing costs, personnel costs, property taxes, insurance costs and other professional fees.

NON-GAAP FINANCIAL MEASURES AND SUPPLEMENTAL DISCLOSURES

SCHEDULE 1: Reconciliation of Adjusted OIBDA to Operating Income (Loss)

To provide investors with additional information regarding our financial results, this press release includes a presentation of Adjusted OIBDA, which is a non-GAAP financial measure, for ABH together with reconciliations to operating income, as determined under GAAP. ABH defines Adjusted OIBDA as operating income (loss) plus stock-based compensation, depreciation and amortization, separately reported litigation settlements, restructuring, acquisition and impairment charges. However, ABH’s definition of Adjusted OIBDA may differ from similarly titled measures disclosed by other companies.

ABH believes Adjusted OIBDA is an important indicator of the operational strength and performance of its businesses by identifying those items that are not directly a reflection of each business’ performance or indicative of ongoing business trends. In addition, this measure allows management to view operating results and perform analytical comparisons and benchmarking between businesses and identify strategies to improve performance. Because Adjusted OIBDA is used as a measure of operating performance, ABH views operating income as the most directly comparable GAAP measure. Adjusted OIBDA is not meant to replace or supersede operating income or any other GAAP measure, but rather to supplement such GAAP measures in order to present investors with the same information that ABH management considers in assessing the results of operations and performance of its assets.

The following table provides a reconciliation of Adjusted OIBDA for ABH to operating income (loss) calculated in accordance with GAAP for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025.

SCHEDULE 2: Cash and Debt

The following presentation is provided to separately identify cash and debt information. ABH cash increased $5 million during the third quarter primarily as a result of the release of restricted cash pursuant to the terms of various financial debt arrangements, net borrowings, proceeds from exercises of stock options, and distributions from equity method affiliates, partially offset by seasonal working capital changes and debt service. ABH debt increased $20 million in the third quarter primarily due to net borrowings on the League wide credit facility to support working capital, partially offset by net payments on the TeamCo revolver.
