How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Filing Explained

The $1.4 billion in unfunded commitments was not all unconditional: most were subject to additional lending provisions and generally portfolio-company milestones, so the headline total should not be read as fully unconditional funding.

Net investment income financial
"Net investment income was approximately $49.9 million"
Net investment income is the money an investor or fund actually keeps from its investments after subtracting the costs of running those investments (like management fees, interest, and losses). Think of it as your paycheck from owning assets: gross returns minus the bills needed to earn them. Investors watch it because it shows how profitable the investment activities are, influences dividend payouts and cash available for growth, and helps compare true performance across funds or companies.
Net asset value financial
"Net asset value was $13.61 per share"
Net asset value is the total value of an investment fund's assets minus any liabilities, divided by the number of shares or units outstanding. It represents the per-share worth of the fund, similar to how the value of a house is determined by its total worth after debts are subtracted. Investors use it to gauge the true value of their holdings and to compare different investment options.
Non-accrual status financial
"loans to three portfolio companies were on non-accrual status"
A loan or credit account is placed in non-accrual status when the lender stops recording expected interest income because the borrower is not making scheduled payments or repayment is doubtful. Think of it like a landlord who stops counting unpaid rent as future income once a tenant stops paying; it signals rising credit problems and potential losses. For investors, non-accrual levels indicate loan quality and can foreshadow write-downs, lower earnings, and increased risk to a lender’s balance sheet.
Effective yield financial
"The effective yield on the average debt investments at cost"
Effective yield is the actual annual return an investor earns on an investment after taking into account how interest or income is paid and reinvested (for example, monthly or quarterly) and any routine fees that reduce returns. It matters because it shows the true payoff you receive compared with a quoted rate, so investors can fairly compare choices the way you would compare take-home pay after taxes and deductions rather than just the gross salary number.
Net leverage financial
"The Company’s net leverage, or net debt-to-equity ratio"
Net leverage measures how many years it would take for a company to pay off its outstanding debt using its annual operating cash flow, after subtracting cash on hand from total debt. Think of it like a household’s mortgage balance minus savings divided by yearly income; a lower number means the company is in a safer position to handle debt, while a higher number signals greater financial risk and potential pressure on profits or growth.
Total investment income $98.4 million Up 30.2% year over year
Net investment income $49.9 million Up 34.9% year over year
Net investment income per basic share $0.52 per share Compared with $0.52 per share in the third quarter of 2025

The effective yield on the average debt investments at cost was 15.2% for the third quarter of 2026, compared to 15.0% for the third quarter of 2025. Total operating expenses and excise taxes, excluding interest expense, for the third quarter of 2026 were $20.2 million, compared to $17.6 million during the third quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily attributable to higher compensation costs partially offset by higher allocated expenses to the Company’s registered investment adviser subsidiary.

Interest expense for the third quarter of 2026 was $28.3 million, compared to $21.0 million during the third quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily attributable to the increase in weighted average debt outstanding.

Net investment income was approximately $49.9 million, or $0.52 per share based on 95.1 million basic weighted average shares outstanding for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $37.0 million or $0.52 per share for the third quarter of 2025 based on 71.5 million basic weighted average shares outstanding.

During the three months ended September 30, 2026, the Company’s net unrealized appreciation totaled approximately $4.5 million, which included net unrealized appreciation of $4.8 million from its equity investments, net unrealized appreciation of $0.3 million from its debt investments, partially offset by net unrealized depreciation of $0.7 million from its warrant investments. Additionally, there was $0.1 million net unrealized appreciation attributable to foreign currency forward contracts.

Net realized loss on investments was approximately $7.5 million, primarily due to the realized losses of two loan positions and one equipment financing position, partially offset by the realized gain of one warrant position.

Net increase in net assets resulting from operations was $46.9 million, or $0.49 per share, based on 95.1 million basic weighted average shares outstanding. This compares to a net increase in net assets resulting from operations of $27.6 million, or $0.39 per share, based on 71.5 million basic weighted average shares outstanding for the third quarter of 2025.

Net Asset Value

Total net assets at the end of the third quarter of 2026 increased by 4.6% to $1.33 billion, compared to $1.27 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2026. The increase in total net assets was primarily due to accretive ATM issuances, partially offset by net portfolio performance. NAV per share increased to $13.61 per share in the third quarter from $13.47 per share as of June 30, 2026.

Portfolio and Investment Activity

As of September 30, 2026, the Company's investment portfolio had an aggregate fair value of approximately $2.9 billion and was comprised of approximately $2.0 billion in secured loans, $470.7 million in equipment financings, and $369.5 million in equity and warrants, across 198 portfolio companies.
