Gas Turbine Systems to Provide Reliable Prime Power for Remote Natural Gas Compression Facility Supporting LNG Export Operations

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Capstone Energy+, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEPL) (“Capstone” or the "Company”), a leading provider of energy certainty through its behind-the-meter clean gas turbine energy solutions for industrial and commercial operations, as well as solutions designed for emerging data center applications, today announced it has received a 2.6 MW order and shipped two (2) C1000S gas turbines and one (1) C600S turbine to supply electricity to a remote natural gas compression plant in Argentina.

Secured through Capstone's authorized distributor, Turbine Heat and Power (THP), the systems are expected to provide prime power for a new natural gas compression facility in Río Negro Province that is expected to supply natural gas to a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility. Located in a remote area with no existing utility power lines to the site, the facility requires reliable on-site power to support critical compression operations. Capstone’s pipeline natural gas-powered turbines were selected for their proven reliability and low-maintenance design. The systems are expected to be commissioned in August 2027.

“This project highlights the growing role distributed generation can play in supporting critical energy infrastructure where traditional grid access is limited,” said Vince Canino, President and CEO of Capstone Energy+. “As energy operators expand into remote and demanding environments, energy certainty becomes essential to keeping critical operations running. Capstone is well positioned and experienced in delivering the scalable, quick and clean deployments that deliver resilient energy solutions.”

“Capstone technology has proven to be highly reliable, low-maintenance, and flexible, allowing it to adapt to operational demands and provide a plug-and-play solution for installation,” said Sebastián Ochoa Marquinez, Director at THP. “For this project, continuity of power supply is critical, as the system is expected to support infrastructure serving planned LNG export operations and the movement of LNG to Europe, Asia, and other regions.”

The announcement builds on Capstone's continued execution of its growth strategy. Recent wins, including a 2 MW expansion at a major U.S. natural gas infrastructure project in New Mexico, reflect growing demand for Capstone's resilient, low-emissions distributed energy solutions across critical infrastructure and energy-intensive industries.

Key Terms

liquefied natural gas (lng) technical
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled until it becomes a liquid so it can be stored and shipped more easily, similar to packing a bulky gas into compact bottles for transport. It matters to investors because LNG turns a local fuel market into a global one, affecting supply, prices and the value of companies that produce, transport or store the fuel when demand, shipping capacity or regulation change.
behind-the-meter technical
Equipment or systems located on a customer’s side of the electricity meter—such as rooftop solar panels, battery storage, electric vehicle chargers, or energy controls—that generate, store, or manage power for use on-site rather than being supplied through the utility’s grid. Investors care because behind-the-meter assets change how much power a customer buys, can create new revenue or savings streams, affect demand patterns, and shift regulatory or business models in the energy market, much like a homeowner installing their own water tank reduces municipal supply needs.
power purchase agreements (ppas) financial
Power purchase agreements (PPAs) are long-term contracts in which a buyer agrees to purchase electricity directly from a specific generator at agreed prices and terms. Like a multi-year subscription for power, PPAs give the seller predictable revenue and the buyer price certainty, which makes energy projects easier to finance and reduces revenue volatility — key factors investors use to assess risk and value.
