PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Citizens Financial Group, Inc. [NYSE: CFG] today announced that Chris Emerson has been appointed Head of Investor Relations, effective August 1. Kristin Silberberg, who currently leads Investor Relations, will transition to serve as Chief Financial Officer of the Commercial Bank at that time.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience across Finance, including working closely with our Executive Committee and business leaders in his current Corporate Planning capacity and his previous role as CFO of the Consumer Bank. His leadership and broad finance and business insights will be invaluable as he engages with investors, analysts and other key stakeholders,” said Chief Financial Officer Aunoy Banerjee. “Kristin has played a pivotal role over the past six years in shaping the company’s investor communications through a period of significant market events and business transformation. Chris will also continue with his current role as the head of Corporate Planning and Enterprise Finance, with responsibility for the Financial Planning and Analysis for Citizens, which includes the strategic planning and annual budgeting processes.

Before joining Citizens, Chris held finance leadership roles in several banks, including Capital One, Barclays Bank and Citigroup.
