OhioHealth Deploys NetMenu to Standardize Patient Nutrition Across 16 Hospitals
Cloud-based platform replaces manual processes and disconnected systems, freeing staff from duplicate data entry to focus on patient care
Previously, OhioHealth operated with separate systems that varied by location. Now everyone can see the same patient information, whether they're tracking a severe peanut allergy or ensuring a cardiac patient gets the right low-sodium meal. The result: staff spend less time on data entry and more time on patient care, while patients get meals that meet their needs and preferences.
This implementation is part of OhioHealth's broader initiative to modernize and unify foodservice technology across their entire system.
NetMenu enables OhioHealth to:
- Standardize allergen management and dietary protocols
- Eliminate duplicate data entry across separate systems, freeing staff for patient care
- Gain real-time visibility into patient nutrition operations to reduce waste and control costs
- Streamline meal ordering and delivery processes for improved patient satisfaction
"OhioHealth truly understands that nutrition is integral to patient outcomes and recovery,” said Arun Ahuja, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Healthcare & Corporate at Transact + CBORD. "Their vision to standardize nutrition services across all 16 hospitals with NetMenu demonstrates exceptional leadership in elevating foodservice from a support function to a clinical priority. This forward-thinking approach is what distinguishes leading health systems from the rest.”
"Before NetMenu, our clinical dietitians and foodservice teams worked in different systems at different hospitals, making it challenging to ensure consistent care," said Cato Coleman, Director of Clinical Nutrition at OhioHealth. "Now we have one source of truth for every patient's nutritional needs—from allergens to therapeutic diets—which gives our teams confidence and allows them to focus on what they do best: nourishing patients back to health.”
