Ascentage Pharma to Present Data from Multiple Trials, Including an Oral Presentation of APG-5918 at ASH 2026
APG-5918 results support a recommended Phase 2 dose, while leukemia combination studies report responses alongside severe adverse events.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Ascentage Pharma (AAPG) will present clinical and preclinical findings across four drug candidates at ASH, including the first APG-5918 clinical data. The meeting runs December 12–15, 2026, in New Orleans and online. In a Phase I study, APG-5918 produced a 44.7% objective response rate among 47 efficacy-evaluable patients with relapsed/refractory T-cell lymphoma; the rate was 65.0% among 20 evaluable patients receiving 600 mg daily. No dose-limiting toxicities occurred during dose escalation.
Olverembatinib combinations produced remissions in adult and pediatric leukemia studies, including a 90.0% response rate among 10 evaluable children receiving lisaftoclax. In previously treated acute myeloid leukemia, response rates were 30% with the azacitidine triplet and 33.3% with the homoharringtonine triplet. Grade ≥3 treatment-emergent adverse events occurred in 84.8% of patients in that study. Preclinical lymphoma findings and an APG-3288 trial-in-progress abstract are also included.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ascentage Pharma Group International (NASDAQ: AAPG; HKEX: 6855), a global, commercial-stage, integrated biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel, differentiated therapies to address unmet medical needs in cancer, announced today that multiple clinical and preclinical studies have been selected at the 68th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting, involving four of the Company’s proprietary innovative drug candidates, namely olverembatinib (HQP1351), the first third-generation BCR-ABL inhibitor approved in China, lisaftoclax (APG-2575), a potentially best-in-class Bcl-2 inhibitor approved in China, APG-5918, a PRC2/EED inhibitor, and APG-3288, a BTK protein degrader. These new data presentations highlight the Company's global innovation capabilities in hematologic malignancies. Notably, APG-5918 was selected for an oral presentation upon the first disclosure of its clinical data.
The ASH Annual Meeting is one of the largest gatherings of the international hematology community, aggregating the latest scientific research on the pathogenesis and clinical treatment of hematologic diseases. The 68th ASH Annual Meeting will take place on December 12-15, 2026, local time, both online and in-person in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
Clinical data on the efficacy and safety of APG-5918 in the treatment of patients with relapsed/refractory T-cell lymphoma (R/R TCL) will be disclosed for the first time as an oral presentation. R/R TCL is highly heterogeneous and is often resistant to currently available chemotherapy as well as targeted therapies. With limited treatment options, TCL remains an area of substantial unmet medical need. As a novel embryonic ectoderm development (EED) inhibitor, investigational agent, APG-5918 demonstrated encouraging antitumor activity and a manageable safety profile in early-phase clinical studies, providing a potentially new epigenetic-targeted treatment strategy.
Meanwhile, Ascentage Pharma will present data from multiple studies of combination therapy of olverembatinib as well as lisaftoclax, spanning the spectrum of myeloid and lymphoid diseases, across adult and pediatric populations, including in both frontline and relapsed settings. In patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML) previously treated with venetoclax, a lisaftoclax and olverembatinib-based triplet regimen has demonstrated encouraging efficacy. In acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a chemotherapy-free regimen of olverembatinib combined with lisaftoclax for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) Philadelphia chromosome-positive ALL (Ph+ ALL) showed deep remission and demonstrated central nervous system penetrant capability. For newly diagnosed pediatric Ph+ ALL, olverembatinib-based combination regimens also achieved high disease remission rates. In addition, updated data on chemotherapy-free olverembatinib-based combination regimens in chronic myeloid leukemia in lymphoid blast phase (CML-LBP) and Ph+ B-cell precursor ALL further support the potential clinical utility of novel chemotherapy-free strategies in refractory lymphoid hematologic malignancies.
In addition, findings on the therapeutic activity of lisaftoclax combined with olverembatinib or APG-5918 in preclinical models of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) will also be presented.
Dr. Yifan Zhai, Chief Medical Officer of Ascentage Pharma, commented, “It’s particularly noteworthy that the selection of APG-5918 for an oral presentation comes with its first disclosure of clinical data. Meanwhile, olverembatinib and lisaftoclax have been featured at ASH for several consecutive years, with multiple combination therapy datasets being presented for the first time this year, highlighting their strong therapeutic potential. Our continuous presence at this premier international hematology conference reflects the recognition by the global hematology community of the scientific value and clinical potential of our investigational drug candidates. It also highlights our capability to sustain innovation and advance global clinical development. Looking ahead, Ascentage Pharma will continue to focus on hematologic malignancies and other therapeutic areas, further explore the therapeutic potential of our pipeline assets, and investigate novel combination regimens to bring forward additional innovative treatment options for patients around the world.”
