4 terms
gallium nitride (gan) technical
"leader in next-generation GaNFast™ gallium nitride (GaN) and GeneSiC™ silicon"
Gallium nitride (GaN) is a durable semiconductor material used to build electronic components that switch power and radio signals faster and with less energy loss than older silicon parts. Think of it as a more efficient, high-performance engine that lets devices be smaller, run cooler, and handle higher voltages; investors watch GaN adoption because it can lower manufacturing and operating costs, enable new products, and shift competitive advantage and profit margins across chipmakers and equipment makers.
silicon carbide (sic) technical
"gallium nitride (GaN) and GeneSiC™ silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors"
Silicon carbide (SiC) is a very durable material made from silicon and carbon, often used in high-performance electronics and industrial tools. It matters because it can handle extreme heat and voltage better than regular materials, making devices more efficient and longer-lasting, especially in electric vehicles and power systems.
edge-ai technical
"Syntiant Corp., an edge-AI neural processor and modeling company."
Edge-AI is running artificial intelligence tasks directly on local devices — like phones, factory sensors, or cameras — instead of sending data to remote cloud servers. For investors, this matters because it can lower costs, reduce delays, improve privacy, and create demand for specialized chips, software and services, so companies that enable or adopt edge-AI can gain competitive advantages in speed, efficiency and new product opportunities.
neural processor technical
"Syntiant Corp., an edge-AI neural processor and modeling company."
A neural processor is a specialized computer chip built to run artificial intelligence tasks—like recognizing images or speech—much faster and more efficiently than a general-purpose chip. Investors care because these chips can boost performance while lowering power costs for products and services that use AI, potentially creating competitive advantages, new revenue streams, and faster product rollouts for companies that design, use, or sell them.
