Top Healthcare Stocks by Revenue
Top healthcare companies ranked by revenue, latest annual filings.
What Revenue Means for Healthcare Companies
Revenue is the top line of the income statement, the dollars booked from prescription drugs, medical devices, hospital services, insurance premiums, or diagnostic tests before any cost is deducted. In healthcare, the figure is shaped by payer mix, reimbursement rates, and regulatory exclusivity windows, so two firms with similar top lines can face very different durability depending on patent cliffs, payer concentration, and approval timing.
Why It Matters in Healthcare
Healthcare revenue signals the scale of a company's commercial franchise, the reach of its sales force, and, for drug and device makers, the strength of its approved portfolio. Large recurring revenue often funds the pipeline that replaces it. Still, revenue concentrated in one asset or one payer can mask fragility, since patent expirations, pricing reforms, or formulary changes can reshape the top line faster than costs can be cut.
What to Read Alongside
Pair revenue with Gross Margin to see pricing power net of the cost of therapy, R&D Spending for pipeline reinvestment intensity that replaces maturing franchises, and Free Cash Flow to confirm that reported revenue converts into actual cash.

How this ranking is built
Companies are ranked by revenue as reported in their most recent annual filing with the SEC. Figures shown are in US dollars (or percent, as noted), rounded to two decimals.
- Source: annual 10-K / 20-F filings from companies trading on US exchanges (NYSE, Nasdaq, AMEX).
- Fiscal year: whichever annual period the company has most recently filed. Fiscal years don't always align with the calendar year, so the "as of FY" stamp above reflects the most common year across the table.
- Filtered out: warrants, preferred shares, and duplicate listings that share a parent company's financials.
- Size floor: A company qualifies at $500 million in market cap or above. Below that, one mis-stated figure outranks the companies the list is about.
- Currency check: A company whose annual revenue runs above 15 times its market cap is left out, because at that gap the two figures are not in the same currency.
- Currency check: A company whose balance sheet runs above 150 times its market cap is left out for the same reason.
- Market cap: stated at each company's latest close, which is newer than the annual figure ranked here.
- Update cadence: refreshed as companies file new annual reports (typically within 60–90 days of fiscal year end).

Frequently asked questions
Why can two healthcare firms with the same revenue look so different?
The composition of the top line matters as much as its size. Revenue from a diversified portfolio of on-patent drugs or recurring device consumables behaves differently from revenue concentrated in a single asset approaching patent expiry. Likewise, a company heavily exposed to one payer or one national reimbursement system faces different risk than one with global, diversified payer mix. Reading the disclosure footnotes on product and geographic concentration usually tells the real story.
How does FDA approval timing affect healthcare revenue?
For drug and device makers, an approval typically triggers a multi-year revenue ramp as the product enters reimbursement, gets added to formularies, and builds prescriber habit. A delayed approval postpones that ramp and can push valuation sharply lower, while an unexpected approval can compress years of anticipated growth into a single quarter's jump. Historical revenue may therefore reflect a portfolio that looks quite different from the one being commercialized today.
Does large healthcare revenue indicate a durable moat?
Often, but not always. Scale in healthcare brings negotiating leverage with payers, broader sales coverage, and the financial capacity to fund long research cycles, all of which can reinforce a competitive position. However, patent expirations, biosimilar entry, and regulatory pricing reforms can erode revenue from even the largest franchises. The durability question usually comes down to pipeline strength and exclusivity runway, which revenue alone does not reveal.
