Top Industrials Stocks by Net Margin

What Net Margin Means for Industrials Companies
Net margin in industrials captures the percentage of revenue that survives raw materials, factory labor, overhead, research, depreciation on heavy equipment, interest on debt used to finance plants, and taxes. Industrial firms carry meaningful fixed costs, which makes their net margin sensitive to volume and cycle. Aerospace and defense contractors tend to sit at the higher end of the sector, while distributors and commodity-exposed machinery makers show thinner and more volatile bottom-line margins.
Why It Matters in Industrials
A durable net margin through a full cycle typically signals genuine operating discipline and pricing stability rather than a convenient volume year. Because much of the cost base is fixed, net margin tends to expand rapidly in upturns and compress just as quickly in downturns. It is worth noting that restructuring charges, pension remeasurements, and warranty provisions move industrial net margin period to period in ways that can mask the underlying run-rate profitability of the business.
What to Read Alongside
Pair net margin with [Gross Margin](/financials/top-gross-margin-stocks/industrials/) to see where along the income statement the profitability is created, [Operating Margin](/financials/top-operating-margin-stocks/industrials/) for the middle layer, and [Free Cash Flow](/financials/top-free-cash-flow-stocks/industrials/) given the capital intensity typical of the sector.

How this ranking is built
Companies are ranked by net margin as reported in their most recent annual filing with the SEC. Figures shown are in US dollars (or percent, as noted), rounded to two decimals.
- Source: annual 10-K / 20-F filings from companies trading on US exchanges (NYSE, Nasdaq, AMEX).
- Fiscal year: whichever annual period the company has most recently filed. Fiscal years don't always align with the calendar year, so the "as of FY" stamp above reflects the most common year across the table.
- Filtered out: warrants, preferred shares, and duplicate listings that share a parent company's financials.
- Update cadence: refreshed as companies file new annual reports (typically within 60–90 days of fiscal year end).
